Damn this place was great. The canteen in Ottumwa Is my fav place of all and this place was right up there with it. In fact, all the other patrons in there with me were from Ottumwa. So yes, a great loose meat sandwich and amazing Mac n cheese and good root beer floats. So happy this place exists! Also there is no parking garage above it, yet.
Loosies was excellent. I mean really excellent. Perfect place to go grab a couple of maid-rites (Loosies) and some of their sides --- the baked beans are killer, the mac & cheese surprising and delightful, and take to a park for a picnic!!! Only 7 parking places and two eensy weensy round tables and several counter seats, so call ahead and do take-out. The service was also excellent and the staff so friendly! Can't wait to go try the chili dogs as all of it is homemade. The Loosies were so flavorful, not greasy, plentiful with meat, and huge, all condiments are already on the sandwich. And there is a MEGA Loosie! They came wrapped in paper, so nostalgic, and were hot and filling. Cannot believe they have been open for three years and I didn't know about it. Go once and you will be addicted!!!
Decided to try it, glad I did loved it, will be back for more! Need to try the sides next.
Really unique take on a hamburger. Best strawberry malt is have ever had. Wonderful atmosphere, very calm and relaxing to eat inside. As someone who is anxious in loud places my lunch was very peaceful and relaxing.
Friendly staff, incredible food, all for a fantastic price. If you’re in town, you need to stop here. Nothing on the menu disappoints and I will be making it a go to destination anytime I’m in CR.

I so want to love Loosies. The food is good, and I love a good loose meat sandwich.However after not going for a long time we tried again. Again I believe I saw food handling issues. Can't go back until I'm sure I won't see that.
My first loose meat sandwich ever! Great experience and a cozy, friendly location. The Mac and cheese was a perfect match for the sandwich! When in Cedar Rapids, its aust visit!
The food is very good. The service is really good. The experience is fantastic. I would recommend this place to friends and I would recommend it family. The sides are executed in the same fashion as the entrees, excellently. The only thing to exceed the preparation of the food is the experience provided by the staff.Great food, great value, super service.I may request this as my last meal, if necessary.
