Verde is a modern, upscale take on Mexican cuisine. My husband and I got the beans & rice, esquites, shrimp ceviche, and the cajetas dessert. Everything was outstanding! Each dish was a unique combination of flavors that all worked together so well! So glad to have a good Mexican restaurant in the QC & will definitely be back!
The waiter recommended the cauliflower appetizer. I would not have ordered it, but it did not disappoint. The pork shoulder was outstanding, you could have cut it with a fork. The dessert was excellent, but you need to keep an open mind. They're not standard desserts but they're soooo good. Worth every penny! I'm not a tequila fan but the classic old fashioned was spot on.
Exceptional execution of Hispanic food staples. The "Rice and Beans" provided a new appreciation of the common side dish. It was the star of the show for originality and flavor. Add to that the esquites and "no carne con res" and it made for a great sharable dinner for two. Their spicy margarita, made with mezcal, was also a highlight adding a smokey sweet balance to the whole meal.
Was very disappointed with the food. Very expensive for what you get. The service was very good though.
Creative, high quality food and drinks. Extremely knowledgeable servers. Neat vibe. So grateful to have something like this in the Quad Cities!!
If you have not been here yet, drop what you are doing and go now. Everything about this place is extraordinary. When I say this place has some serious talent, I mean it, the Chef is amazing. Everything we tasted was so original in concept and executed perfectly. There are so many small details that did not go unnoticed, in the food as well as the presentation and service. We chose to try several of the small plates, and the experience itself was made so great by our server,
Our new favorite date night spot!! We loved everything! Every plate was mouthwatering and the drinks were superb! It’s evident that every employee here strives to make sure your dining experience is pleasant! Thanks for a great meal and night! We will be back
We went here a couple weekends ago on a Saturday night - we had reservations at 6:30. As we arrived they definitely were not busy. The atmosphere and presentation of everything was great! We had the small plate of the cauliflower - hands down the absolute best! Absolutely delicious! As for the large plates - we had the pork shoulder and steak. As for the pork shoulder, there isn't much to say, it was good, but nothing that stood out. And for the steak - the char on the outside was a bit too much and then just overpowered it all and left with a not so flavorful taste in your mouth. Drinks - Flor Roja - totally worth it Pera - Not so much and more sweet and syrup-y than anything. And lastly - the desert - Carrot Cake Tres Leche - Good, but not what i was expecting
Heard many great things about Verde, so my wife and I tried it tonight and I'm so happy we did. She ordered the Carne & Papas, and I ordered the Al Pastor, then we split the Rice & Beans dish. From preparation to taste it was all amazing. The staff was great as well. We'll be back to try different dishes for sure.
Verde pork tacos “feature” tacos have been my first ever pregnancy craving!! Every single menu item is excellent, Chef Connor’s take on Mexican cuisine is amazing (as well as his desserts!!!) We always sit at the end of the bar in the most comfortable bar chairs I’ve ever seen. 10/10 recommend this restaurant AND recommend sitting at the end of the bar to be able to watch the chef and his team work!!
