Super helpful staff, great books and technology and just a great atmosphere in general. Would recommend ?.
The told us we can't sit on the floor like it's their decision. We got told they provide furniture but if so why not in big groups? They are very unkind to children coming there after school, acting like they will just mess around. Example A, we were respectful and quite. And the day before it was just fine. I'm curious to how many more kids they affended.
For such a nice library, they have very unhelpful staff.

My original post had been an issue with consortium rules during pandemics and I just want to thank Bettendorf Library for addressing. I am one of those high risk people actively going through Chemotherapy weekly. It helps to have places that are able to accommodate to my needs so I can still enjoy what little freedom I can allow for myself during the pandemic. (Somehow I am that person that if a fly sneezes I will catch a cold ;)- just my reality). The library has wonderful resources to take advantage of and given that my family and I have benefited from those resources greatly we will be becoming members to support such causes in the future. Thank you!
Good selection, good programs and friendly staff

Consortium rules during pandemics should be more generous. Bettendorf library staff are kind but I do not appreciate whatever bureaucracy exists across Scott county depending on a city patron’s city. In IA City libraries are temporarily allowing to keep books and materials for longer periods to allow relief for patrons. Likely this means our own libraries could follow suit. I can’t check out material to replace what I am having to return because the library is closed nor do I want to walk through the doors because I am in active chemotherapy, but I have to return the items because they expect them in house for no one else to check out. This doesn’t make sense at this point in time. Other times yes it does make sense. Please reconsider your policies or take this to the team that does create rules. We are all trying to make due with our circumstances.
