We often eat there when we're in Ankeny, and did so last Sunday. The fish and chips was, as it always is, outstanding. Our waitress, Jordan, was equally outstanding. She took care of our lunch time needs, often anticipating what we were wanting next. She even sent my wife home with a cup of the pop she was drinking. Simply outstanding and is our favorite restaurant when we're in Des Moines area.
The rolls were amazing, the cocktails were on point and our waitress, Makena was THE BEST! We will be back!
We celebrated a birthday and a graduation. We went for the first time and did lunch. I will say that I felt the menu was pretty basic, so not sure if there are other menu selections at later times. Some in our party had sushi and felt it was very good. I had the Walleye strips and they were very good. The price is still a bit much for just fish and fries, but it was delicious. Our server was friendly and responsive. Overall, pleased. Would like to try supper sometime when back in the area.
This was our last attempt of dining at this location. The salmon was way over cooked and pretty sure that it was not fresh to taste that badly. The crab cakes have shrunk and price went up and was definitely not made with fresh crab. When I asked if the clam strips were fresh at least the waitress was honest and shook her head no. The only bright side was the service. Our waitress was very good. To bad good service and good food don't go together there...
Amazing food and drinks! Best sushi and seafood around! The service is always top notch!
I come here several Wednesdays per month. The lunch is always amazing and hits the spot. I get catfish, orange roughy, halibut, it’s all cooked perfect. The server is always attentive and friendly. Always a returning customer. My only place for fish
First time there, we had lunch and I really enjoyed it. Friendly service, everything tasted wonderful and average price for seafood. We had cream cakes, oyster Rockefeller, and sushi lunch box. We will definitely go back
What an AMAZING experience my husband and I just had tonight! From the moment we walked in, we explained we were sushi newbies and needed some help, they pointed us to the sushi bar. We had never had sushi-they were so kind, funny and educated us on all things sushi! Thank you much all the gentlemen working there. We will definitely be back! We ordered 4 specialty rolls and they helped us along the way. All 4 were amazing-The Ankeny, The Girlfriend, The Volcano and the Bruce Lee
Stopped in for lunch, the grilled halibut was absolutely phenomenal. Fresh salad. Friendly and quick service. Returning customer and I have a great experience each time
Enjoyed dinner, started with. Some sushi finished with some trout. Only downside was they were out of my first beer choice, but waitress brought the bartender to the table to give me some other choices. Nice save.
