Rare to find good food AND good service, Uptown manages to do both.7 of us on a Saturday night visit, all got our drinks and food quickly, hot and at the same time. Amazing now days! Some of the best onion rings we've had and not greasy. The hot combo pizza was very good.We will be back.
Great lunch stop today at the “Uptown” restaurant.Nice menu with many, many choices. They also have a pizza and salad buffet.I would eat here regularly if I lived in the area.At our table we ordered a “classic bacon cheese burger”, grilled chicken sandwich, and a chicken Parmesan sandwich. The burger was great but I thought the other two also delicious.
After going to the Ankeny farmers market. My son and his girlfriend, took me to lunch here. We were seated right away. Restaurant was clean and staff was very friendly. I had the crispy chicken salad, with the house dressing which was very good. We were busy visiting with each other I forgot to get more photos. I will return for another visit.
Pizza was alright. The margarita and uptown combos tasted better than the veggie and meatball. Mozzarella sticks were a bit bland, but big and warm. Everything was cooked right it just felt a bit lacking.
Met with friends on a recent Saturday afternoon to wait until our spot opened up at a nearby location. Though this was not our original planned destination we enjoyed it so much we gave away our original reservation and stayed at Uptown. Staff is friendly and the pizza is amazing! Highly recommend a visit when in Ankeny!
Good food and the drinks are amazing! Brandon is a pro! I think that’s his name! He’s a true mixologist! A very nice locally owned restaurant. Very clean and welcoming! Check them out!
OK, SOOOO happy we tried this place. After a kinds rough week, I needed a beer. My son wanted ice cream. They had both PLUS nachos. .. definitely checked out the rest of the menu and talked to a few guests about what they had gotten. All of us seemed in agreement, this place is awesome. We will FOR SURE be going back. Plus that we only live 3-5 minutes away depending on lights. It's also locally owned and operated so that's cool. Adds a couple 'notches to the belt' when it comes to where to go and supporting local. Our server was great, the menu looked amazing (we'll be back to try more and update this review), the beer selection was on point and it was pretty cool to see the head honcho out there talking to tables.10/10.
Service was good. We didn't have to wait long for a table. We got a pizza that was pretty good. Onion rings were okay. Will try something different next time. We will go back.
Repeat customers but first time for pizza. Started with 1/2 order onion rings, so good! Just enough for 3 of us to split. Light batter & flavorful. Also ordered 1/2 pizza, all meat combo. Weird they do a 1/2 of a large vs just a medium size, but it was enough to fill us up. Crust was nice & crispy. Cheese & meat toppings were plentiful, but missing sauce….when I peeled away the toppings….I think.?. I saw what might have been a red tint of sauce….all other aspects were good, but lacking that tomato based taste & seasoning. We’ll be back, not likely for pizza though….we’ll save that treat for the one up the block to the east! Service was good, clean restaurant, great atmosphere.
Best pizza in Central Iowa!! Great family environment, ownership, and staff!
