Our 10U little league Baseball team traveled from Kansas City for a tournament this past weekend & we called maybe 12 restaurants.... Hidalgo was the only one that would even entertain the idea of providing service for a party of 40+. I'm SO glad they did because not only was their service fast and friendly but their food & margaritas were amazing! I cannot recommend this place enough! If we're ever back in the area, we will definitely be making a stop here!
Called Friday night and they wouldn’t let us order take out. Said they were too busy. Called Saturday an hour earlier and ordered. Drove to pick it up and they gave my food to someone else. Then told I would have to wait 35-40 minutes so they could remake my food. At the least I wanted a discount if not free food for the drive and wait time. Was told could discount 30 percent due to their mistake. Our last order was incorrect as well. Quite frustrating and not great customer service.
Solid Mexican restaurant. We got the chicken chimichanga and a chicken taco. They both had lots of chicken and vegetables stuffed in them. Large side portions as well for the lunch menu. They also brought us a couple bags of chips and salsa.
Good food and drinks not authentic Mexican food but still good. Service was pretty good the waitress kept checking up on us. Nice tequila selection including Jose Cuervo reserva and clase azul ultra which are not easy to find. Sat at the bar after dinner for a drink and listen to a nice variety of music.
I'm going to give Hildago a 5 star rating, although I wish their queso was a bit more spicy (I thought it a bit on the mild side.) The chips are AWESOME. And the salsa is just right. For dinner, I had the Seafood Enchiladas, (pictured) my wife had Fajitas. We've ate here many times, and will be back many more, yeah the food is that good. VERY friendly waiter and servers!
The service was pretty good. The house made hot salsa was good as was the guacamole and the chips. I had the chile relleno plate. It was awful. The sauce was cloying sweet, the "cheese" was watery, the beans tasted like some cheap canned (think frito lays bean dip). The rice was bland and somehow spongey and dry in texture. It was I edible. My husband had the cheese steak, which was bland. The water tasted off. So, if you just want a beer and some guacamole and chips, great place to go. Otherwise, skip it.
I'm from Texas but this is some of the best Mexican food around. The fajitas and margaritas are always top-notch. Service could be better it seems like they're understaffed but the food always makes up for it

Easily best Mexican food we’ve ever had. We brought our friends from out of town and they all rave that this is the best Mexican they’ve had in the Midwest and only thing comparable is authentic from California.
