Great atmosphere, I enjoyed eating outside on the upper deck (2nd floor). Buffalo Cauliflower was addicting as a starter. Will feed 3 to 4 people. Beef brisket sandwich was mild but could be better with some sauce. Great place for beer and food. Husband loved it. Some vegetarian options. Good Pasta and veggie sides. My husband really enjoyed it.
We’ve been here a few times at this point, and every visit the food and the service both are amazing! Particularly our server tonight (Kennedy) was the sweetest! She got right to us minutes after we sat down, greeted us kindly, took our drink and food orders, checked in periodically as needed, and kept on top of things around the restaurant, especially with her other tables! Just a wonderful experience as always! Thanks again Kennedy!
Amazing, amazing building they have here, with a gorgeous rooftop bar. If only the quality of the structure transferred over to the food, drinks, and service...I want so badly to like this place, but I can't. Time and time again they prove that they're awful at just about everything that makes for a good bar. The best case scenario here is that someone actually competent buys this place out, because as long as it stays under current management, this is clearly the best we'll get.
I'm not sure what all the Karens and highfalutin egos that complained about this place were expecting, but all their complaining reviews almost kept us from trying this place. I'm glad we came. Food quality was amazing, prices are decent considering the inflation we have right now, and the drink options were great. Sat on the patio and had a great time. Will definitely be back. If you are actually from Iowa you will like this place.
I really don’t usually do this, and I’ve been here over a dozen times but... I’m going to start by saying the food is very over priced for its quality. Second, I get serving isn’t the most thrilling job, but the best way to make money is pretending you care (might as well make the most of it while you’re there). We walked in (multiple times) and didn’t receive service for very long period of time. This may be the most annoying part, which may not apply to others but it really grinds my gears. On multiple occasions we went anticipating watching some playoff hockey (I know we live in Iowa and no one cares about hockey, but I do) cause well it’s playoff hockey and the grumpy goat is a “sports” bar. We walk in and either professional cornhole or the Padres vs the Mariners is on. And I asked for one TV to be changed; didn’t get it. Blows my mind how oblivious the employees are. Don’t waste your time here, there’s many other better sports bars to go to around Ankeny. Plus no one there will care I posted it, they don’t want to work anyway. Go to the Cabernet down the street
This happened last year, probably around November maybe.Upon entering, it took me over 20 minutes to get seated because every waiter and waitress were focused on serving a group of 20 - seems like they figured that they would produce more profit, and didn't care for anyone else waiting. After that extremely long wait, and some questionable service at best, it took them over half an hour to get change for a $20 - far longer than it even took for me to eat. Most of my time here consisted of waiting when the wait should've been easily avoidable. When I had asked the waitress what was going on - mind you, she was constantly going back and forth after taking the 20, and said absolutely nothing to me until I confronted her, she said "they have to get change out." Which gives me absolutely no info, especially not any that helps me.The food was also sub-par at best, with the prices certainly not equivalent to the quality. All in all, I will not be back, and reccommend everyone to stay away from this place - if not for the terrible service, at least to not support the terrible human of an owner.
Absolutely wonderful time. Visited for brunch before heading home to Missouri. They had a one man band playing and he was absolutely delightful to listen to at brunch during a cloudy rainy Sunday over breakfast. They had a bloody Mary and mimosa bar. (can't remember the prices) and our waitress was very attentive to us as her customers. Food was so awesome. And it was very hard to choose which breakfast I wanted because everything on the menu sounded sooooo good. The bloody Mary was to die for. Stop in if your in town. Well worth it.
I had the salmon club! It's one of the best things I've put in my mouth! This was at the Ankeny location. Absolutely loved it! We also had the Buffalo cauliflower appetizer!! It was literally a meal, so good!
Delicious brunch and really good Bloody Mary's. They have a variety of fun breakfast drinks! Great atmosphere. I had the Chorizo Biscuits and Gravy and overall was very good. I asked for over easy egg and it was way over cooked but still tasted great. I will definitely go back as there were some great looking brunch options.
My mother came to visit her grandson so we went as a family trip. The food was great, prices were not, service was definitely there when it was needed and were treating us kindly. If I lived closer I would definitely go there more often.
