I had intended to have supper at Pho85, but for some unknown reason they were closed up tight! So, I went a couple of doors down to El Azteca Mexican Restaurant. I have never eaten here - but I decided to give it a try. I had the Hawaiian style fajitas ... half chicken & half beef, with pineapple and bacon - $15.95. Absolutely delicious! A negative point, however - the flour tortillas were tough, like they were old. I told my waiter and he immediately offered to replace them.And the other negative, they only had two servers. And they got very busy, so I waited a long time for my server to return. Oh, almost forgot ... the chips and hot sauce were very good, also. Thin, fresh chips and a good, simple hot sauce dip. All that said, I definitely will be back!!
Buy their chimichanga and their fajitas. Sooooooo good! So good.

I have been coming here for 14 years now, and I have never had a single complaint. Not only does this place have amazingly delicious food, but the service is top tier. I love and admire every single individual that works at this establishment. Hands down the best place to eat in Iowa!
Pollo chipotle and the shredded beef chimichangas are good. We always enjoy their queso dip.

Stopped by and had dinner tonight. Carlos was our server. Everyone is super friendly but Carlos was incredibly attentive and took care of us beyond what normal service normally calls for. The queso and guacamole was tasty, our drinks came out quick… Thanks to Carlos of course and dinner was hot fresh and delicious. One of Ankeny’s great places because of the people
