Had I read the reviews I never would have placed an order. Thankfully, I didn't and can report that the portions were on par with other Chipotle locations. The rice was fully cooked, so that wasn't an issue. I didn't notice any cross contamination aka meat in my vegetarian food. The only negative for me is that they were out of guacamole. I liked this location and would eat here again.
First time back in years, staff was friendly and accommodating helping customers who weren't familiar. The food was delicious. The restaurant was modern, and had a spacious layout.
Very bad service. They gave us the wrong orders. So instead of double steak bowls with everything, we had 2 veggie bowls. We went back to fix it and they only thing they would do is give us some meat. No beans quac, cheese, or queso that we paid for. It was an expensive veggie bowl. They also ignored us for as long as possible once they realized we were back.
Undersized portions. Both the bowl meat and side of guac were less than advertised. Didn't want to argue, so I ordered a second portion. Son ordered a quesadilla, they burnt the first one, didn't say anything to us.Could not hear the check-out cashier wearing a mask, asked them to speak up multiple times unsuccessfully. I stood waiting at the checkout for a few minutes, before someone noticed we didn't have all our food. Food was okay, but not worth the price. The dining area needed cleaning, but all the staff were too busy standing around chatting. Will not be going back to this location.
Best and worst chipotle I have had.Food is cooked well and you get good portions.CROSS CONTAMINATION!!!! I have had chipotle in several states over 15 years and this place is the worst at cross contamination. You have multiple pieces of meat in the vegetable, steak pieces in chicken etc….this year alone we’ve had 4 incidents of finding meat in the veg bowl we ordered and have had to ask them to remake it.
I used to eat here at on an average of at least once a week. Looking back on my bank records, I have eaten at the Ankeny location over 32 times in the last year. At the time, they supported Military discounts. The General Manager, Matt Nguyen, was always a pleasure to see me and was more than happy to support my Veteran Status with a discount.During the week of Memorial Day, June 1st to be exact, I visited theAnkeny location. Matt wasn't working there, but the Regional Manager was there. She stated she was from Iowa City and she identified herself as the Matt's boss. Matt was on a plane from Chicago and not available. When it was time for me to cash out, I showed my Military Veteran's card and the new employee wasn't aware of what discount to give. The Regional manager must not have been aware of the discount, but she followed through with the hero's discount for Police officers.On June 7th, I visited the same location and when I went to cash out, the employees informed me they no longer support the United States Military in the form of a discount. In fact, the female cashier said, "Yeah we finally got caught giving military personnel and Veterans so we aren't allowed to do this any more."I find this ironic and disturbing that once the Regional Manager got word that this store was giving military discounts, that the discount was immediately discontinued. If she is responsible for this action, I truly feel bad for her for putting her corporations dollar bill before the very freedoms she has provided by the one who served our military to protect her freedoms.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. From everyone that worked there. And the way they do things are so lazy. Absolutely terrible.
Hate to be that person, I'm vegan and found a steak piece in my sofritas and veggies bowl. Got a refund but didn't seem the most friendliest

We have been in half a dozen times the last 90 days and we are done after this last visit. Employees don't care and look like they just want to go home. Place is dirty and the chicken is weird. The most crushed up chips out of any location! I saw someone wrote in another comment. "Employees ignore you, you have to beg them to greet you." SAME HERE!
