The woman making our sandwiches in a Drake sweatshirt was quite frankly rude. We are on our way home from a funeral. We just wanted good food. Instead the woman completely disregarded our desires for our sandwiches that we paid for. She also failed to restart the sandwich when asked. Overall quality the bread looked good. It's generally clean. The only problem is a people problem. Sunday June 12th 1225 pm.
I didn't realize there were any Blimpie's still around, until I found this one in Ankeny. We drove out of our way to get there and now we regret going there. The bread on both me and my wife's sandwiches tasted like sand paper. When I asked Michael, the guy behind the counter, if they had any bread that wasn't overcooked, he said that all their bread was pretty dense and that's how corporate wanted the bread cooked. Don't go to this place! You will definitely get a better sandwich anywhere else. I guess there's a reason most Blimpie's have closed!
I love this place, come here very often. Wish they had more help, though.
In Ankeny, visiting. Didn't know that any Blimpies still were around, in our home area they were our go to sub shop until they all closed down years ago. My meatball sandwich was good, not great; family liked their turkey sandwiches.
High priced on there sandwiches
Ate here for nostalgia awhile ago, it was exactly as I remember! I thought the blimpie name had faded from view when the company had closed a location in my hometown, but these guys hit it right out of the park! It's like I was in 5th grade again picking up a sandwich before heading out to baseball practice and I tell you what, being reminded of that time with these guys here in Ankeny was awesome. It sounds silly but thank you for opening up shop and for being such a great team to see working together.
We stopped in at 3 pm.Food was good. Service was good.Only thing negative to say was that the floor was so sticky that my foot nearly came out of my shoe!
I would definitely give the employees a 5 star and the food- however if I could rate this location at 0 I would this time. I placed order online for delivery through their website, we have only lived here for two months in this area we have ordered 3 other times, with them being amazing, my husband came home today and said lets order Jimmy John's, I should habe said yes instead I said let's order Blimpie they are awesome here. I placed order on the site it was set up as delivery, somehow it changed when I got my email confirmation It said pick up, I called the store immediately and the young lady informed me that it came across as a pick up, I said I see that, that is why I am calling, it is supposed to be delivery. She stated she didn't know how to get ahold of door dash, I informed her the site only allows us to contact them directly, young lady stated she didn't know, I asked her if she could find out from a manger how to get ahold of door dash, as clearly their is an issue. She said yes I will call someone and I will call you back, and asked me for my phone number. Young lady called me back within 5 mins and stated she had someone that was going to deliver the order. This young lady took ownership and went above and beyond. The reason for the low rating is definitely not for the food, nor the staff they did amazing and I would give them 5 stars everyday- however shortly after I got off the phone with the store the owner messaged me by text informing me that I yelled at his staff, and that caused an problem for him, I have three texts from him where he threatened me. That have been turned into the ankeny police. It is very sad when an owner can react so unprofessional and his young wonderful staff can act more mature than the one who is suppose to be leading them. Im not sure what the young lady told him, in fact none of his texts stated what she had told him, but this was a simple complaint that the young lady handled 100% professional. The owner needs to take some classes from his staff, because they are real problem solvers, he is not. I wont order from them again, very sad.
