The best Mexican food you will find in Iowa. It even meets the higher standards of Mexican food I got used to growing up in LA, which surprised me. Such excellent food we eat here every time we want Tacos or Burritos.
We decided to venture out and try a new to us place. This place was FREEZING!! We didn't dare take our coats off. The food was cold, old, and wayyyyy over cooked. My fish tacos were nasty. The fish was so done it was almost chewy. The tortillas were not fresh. My husband's burrito was cold inside. I feel like it's over priced for the little amount that you get. Just not a good experience.
If you get food here prepare for a wait. It’s worth it though. My husband likes to get burritos and tacos mostly and I usually get a tostada
I can always count on Abelardo's for an awesome torta! I have yet to experience the rest of the menu, but I'm open to suggestions.

I know it’s supposed to be a top notch Mexican place in ankeny but I just haven’t had that experience. Every time I’ve had their food it’s either burnt, soaking wet or not as described. I love to support local but I just can’t with them. The food is awful and overpriced. I’d rather go to Amigos and see the fresh food being made right in front of me with a kind smile
Such good food. Had a really great experience here. All staff is very nice and kind and greet you when you walk in. Nothing bad to say about this place I definitely recommend. 10/10!!
Food is consistent with other locations but staff can't get anything right.
Horrible wait time, was in drive thru at least 30 mins. Food was ok but not worth the wait. Never again
