What an experience. I did not go here for lunch or dinner, I stayed at the hotel and went here to get breakfast. It was a pretty average hotel breakfast, toast and fruit. Except that then a waiter came and asked if I wanted apple juice - and brought it to me in like a glass goblet. It's not every day someone hands you a goblet of apple juice at 8:15 in the morning. I have to give it 5 stars just for that.

Attended a meeting at the Gateway Hotel this weekend. Saturday evening at 5:15, 3 of us decided to try the restaurant. When we arrived at the empty dining room, we were told we needed reservations & nothing was available until 7:30. We asked if we could sit at the bar & order. We were told yes, but the single chef would be too busy to prepare anything for us except appetizers, soup, or salad. (We saw him wandering around the empty restaurant for 5 minutes.)The bartender was unfriendly, bordering on rude. She took our orders, but told one of us that she couldn't order a full sized salad because the "busy" chef had to prepare it. The "other staff" was able to fix small salads. The food was good. Not great. Not poor. When we left at 6, only 2 tables had come for their reservations. So glad our orders didn't stress out the wandering chef.

Had a reservation for Christmas Eve with family flying in from out of state to celebrate with our 93 yo mother/grandmother/great-grandmother. But, on December 2nd, they CANCELLED!!!!! All the other places are booked, and now we have no place to spend Christmas with our mother. So do not plan on them upholding their agreement with you. Go someplace else. Our holidays are RUINED because of this incompetent, unreliable venue.

Once upon a time when I went to I.S.U I worked here when this restaurant was called Summerfields and it is still one of my favorite memories. It was owned by the Holiday Inn so we got 15 dollar rooms when traveling as employees. Major Perk! I miss the little lobby bar and the windows overlooking the lobby but it is great to see the hotel adapt to the new times. It was great to be in my old stomping grounds and to show our kids a piece of my past. Great place to stay for All-State, great food and great IPA beer on tap!

The food was very good tasting but the rice mixture was seriously under done. However, the menu was super limited. Three starters, 3 burgers, 3 main dishes , 3 desserts. Better call ahead if you need to know the choices, the on line menu has been taken down. On a Saturday night in Oct we were the only table.

Food tasted good but I have to say I was a little disappointed with the small menu and small portions. Other than that the service was good and the food tasted great.

Food was good service was great

Had Saturday buffet; eggs were dry, servers lost track of waffle spray which held up line and made them fall apart. Bacon and homemade omelet was good, could have included more of sausage and cheese though. Pastries were good, coffee good, service good. Some family members wished there was a menu to order from instead of buffet.

The event was great the catering was well done. For 6:30 a.m. you couldn't ask for a better venue for 200+ attendees

Say in back smelt bad. Looked dirty! Needs a good cleaning furniture carpet
