The place is nice and staff is friendly. Portions were a little sl for the cost, but rhe presentations was really nice. Mu mai complaint is that it was extremely cold near the outer wall, and food got cold VERY fast because of that. Next, is that the wait was very long, however it was Easter Sunday when I went there. It was my first time there, so I will likely give it another chance.

Atmosphere is great. Strange location but worth it once you find the area. Low but direct lighting provides intimate atmospheres even though it’s always busy full of people. Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, nothing extravagant but really good food every time

This is sister resturant to the Cafe also in Ames and it is a delightful spot - light and airy witth a varied menu and easy on the budget prices - a fine place for any occasion - am particulatly fond of brunch

We dined at Provisions a few days ago for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The staff was friendly, the food excellent, and the atmosphere enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

Taste, atmosphere, price, and server friendliness. It was a restaurant not to be missed. However, green beans are served on the side of the steak, which didn't seem to go well with me. I thought it would be better if you put some salad on the side and make us eat it with meat. I also drank a glass of Pinot Noir red wine, and it smelled and tasted good. I plan to visit again soon to try other food.

Visiting Ames we had a very nice dinner here. I like the review that called it casual/swanky. That fits it. Nice décor but not pretentious. A chilled bottle of water hit the table before the menus did. The staff exhibited quiet professionalism. Good place for a family meal or a business conversation. Most of the meals are composed.... not the usual baked potato or fries question. The salmon was cooked perfectly with roasted fingerling potatoes and beets in a dill sauce. Very nice. The burger was very generous with really good roasted potatoes with it. Just a touch on the pricey side but worth it.

Tip: sit at the bar to avoid the wait for a table! The exit and road to the restaurant look like you're going nowhere special but once you open the doors, this is an absolute gem. It looks like it could be a restaurant in Chicago. Great space, lovely decor, good vibe, and the food was awesome. Any time we pass by Ames, we'll be stopping here!

We had a lovely lunch here! The food was amazing and so were our drinks. We had the Spicy Shrimp Udon and it was so, so good! We also had the bread & oil appetizer and dessert (all made right there) and they did not disappoint. We were there yesterday and still talking about our delicious lunch today. Service was great, cool ambience and all around highly recommended!

This honestly is my favorite place in Ames to take my people out for dinner or lunch or breakfast. All of what they have is amazing. This location has an amazing vibe the moment you walk in. From the Cafe(on the right when you walk-in) to the bar in the back, to the main restaurant seating(off on the left)and even outdoor seating.I have only been impressed every time I come! Keep up the good work all of you! Thanks for making delicious food and appreciate all of you who make it possible. Thanks!!!!Nick
