Love pizza Pit!! Best pizza and drummies!!!
Been a frequent customer of Pizza Pit since they opened both at the restaurant when i worked on Campus, and after i retired. And, my parents order pizza from the Pit all the time.BUT, yesterday, my parents ordered a deluxe pizza through their answering system & asked to be called back to make sure that the order was received.No one called back, so my Father called back 10 min.later & left another message asking them to call back to confirm the order.No response AGAIN. So, i called back about the order & asked about it, & left his name & phone #. I EVEN CHECKED their website & it said THEY WERE OPEN!!! We usually order pizzas on Sunday at this time!!!!Since Pizza Pit usually takes 45 min.to deliver, we waited that long, and i called back again & left another message & ALSO SENT an email for the Ames Pizza Pit!After waiting another 15 min., we FINALLY GAVE UP, and went somewhere else for our lunch since we were extremely hungry!When i called the Manager today & gave him my name & told him i had been a LONG-TIME CUSTOMER (since they opened!), and that my parents only ate their pizza, we had ordered a large supreme pizza yesterday that never came!He explained that they werent open because he vouldnt get enough help, and so i told him, he should have changed his website then.He gave a lame excuse, INSTEAD of APOLOGIZING!!!This is POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE, especially for 2 separate customers who frequent his business ALOT!!A simple apology would have satisfied me, BUT his TOTAL LACK of SINCERITY was INAPPROPRIATE for a business owner!I use to own a small business in Ames, and I ALWAYS told my customers if there was anything i needed tomdo to IMPROVE my services, to please let me know so i could correct the situation AND make it up to them!!!Fortunately, i never had to rectify that, as i was always striving to offer TOP NOTCH Services & Products! In fact, my Business was voted the Best in Story County for 8 yrs. in my category until i retired.I feel this manager did NOT RESPOND APPROPRIATELY to a DISSATISFIED customer!!! A simple apology would have been sufficient, but he offered EXCUSES!!! The only thing that would make me content at this point would be a $5 off coupon toward our next purchase!!!
Love this place!We order a variety and we've tried about everything on the menu. If you don't feel like pizza, order a hot sandwich, or my favorite, a huge garden salad. Add extra protein by ordering chicken tenders and cut them up! Always fresh, and delivery drivers are awesome! Friendly and accurate. My husband can't do dairy, and they always get his pizza right (no cheese). It might sound weird, but if you want pizza without cheese, you'll love it!We've also gone inside and the place is clean. It matters!
We ordered using their app. It got listed as pick-up (even though I entered an address for delivery). App said 35 minutes, we waited over an hour and called. They offered to deliver pizza that had been under the warmer for an hour. When we asked for fresh, they said it was our fault and they would not. Manager was rude and said we won't get a refund either. When I called to make sure the order was canceled, she said the owner told her not to help us over this mistake. We've had missed sodas in the past with our orders, never complained but this is insane. We only wanted fresh, hot food. We love the food, but we didn't deserve to be treated like we were scamming for free food.
The daily lunch slices are a deal and a super fast option for lunch. My favorite pizza place in Ames hands down. The wings and sandwiches are also awesome.
Omg I'm from pittsburgh. This is the best pizza I have had since I was a kid.Makes you feel like a kid being rewarded with pizza ?

Hot Tub Time Machine that serves pizza. It could use a bath, but have to love the place if only because it feels like the 80s. I should know. I was there. Particularly like the large speakers hanging from the ceiling.
One of our favorite places to eat in Ames. Nothing fancy but the food is great, the staff is friendly, and service is typically very quick. I love the cheese bread for an appetizer. My wife loves the wings and drummies. She says it's her favorite chicken in Ames. The food is always very consistent and I've never been disappointed. The seating area is rarely crowded and delivery is quick if you decided to stay at home.
I'm from Minnesota and I love trying new pizza places. I love the pizza and the cheese bread. 5 stars all the way.
