I've been eating here since it opened years ago, up until a few years ago it's been the tops. Then the downslide started about 2 years back. Unclean restaurant, poor food quality, bad service, rude staff and too cold inside in the winter and too hot in the summer. Then we stopped in a few weeks ago, and all was back to normal. New friendly staff, great food, clean restaurant. I'm very happy to report the place is back on my favs list
The griddle was filthy. We sat outside watching after we left and the employees never used the scraper afterward on it, so they couldn't say they were busy. The grease was caked and burnt over 3/4 over the griddle.The cook used their gloved hands to add the vegetables, meat, and seasonings to the griddle. Not only did she use those same gloved hands to scrape the meat out of the pans into the respective bowls, but used them to add the lettuce, shredded cheese and olives to them as well.These people cannot have been trained properly and the management should be ashamed of themselves. Pepperjax used to be a place I would go several times a week for lunch. Now, you would have to pay me to go there
Very attentive to each ingredient and informative as to options available for each individual wanting to get what taste best to them the young girl and to young men were as all hands on deck giving us hospitality at its best while preparing our selection to order the attention to detail was extraordinary from making us feel welcome the minute we stepped in the door to letting us know our business was appreciated as we left it was just real feel good moment I will bring many out of my out of town guests here during the holidays as I have my found a place I can be proud to take my friends and be confident Iowa will be represented with pride by the guys and girl whom waited on us last week keep up the good work and thank you for putting the smile on our face

Friendly and fast service. Workers helped recommend toppings as it was my first time. Will definitely recommend getting the philly cheesesteak, really good! Fries were made on the spot and very well seasoned.
Listen, I've had some good Philly cheesesteaks, this is up there with the best of them. Make sure you ask for the fireball juice and top it with either pepper jack cheese or cheddar and you got yourself a dang fine sandwich.
The food tastes good but I it's overpriced and it's so noisy in there it is really hard to hear the staff and they have a hard time hearing you. Not interested in a repeat visit.
Food is decent, but it took 40+ min to make 2 burritos will not busy...
