Food was okay but my boyfriend and I were seated and had to go to the bar to order drinks then ask a busser to send our waitress over. We went 15 minutes without anyone coming to take our orders and when she did arrive she said she didn't see us. Need to teach staff to keep eyes up. We initiated concern with multiple staff members who walked right past us or watched us get up from our table and go order at the bar.
Man, this place is huge! It's a sports bar, BBQ restaurant, game room, and hotel conference room(s) all rolled into one. The Ragin' Cajun sandwich was great at first, but by the end it was only so-so. I kind of felt the same about the Jalapeno Cream Corn. If I had a do-over, I'd probably try the brisket instead.
decent barbecue if you are not able to be in Memphis or Texas but not wholly authentic Good sweet potato fires as a side would do well to add cole slaw to sandwiches - was disappointed in the ribs
I ordered the shrimp dinner with Mac and waffle fries. Absolutely delicious. My boyfriend got the chicken finger grilled cheese with Mac and cheese and loves it too. The time is mornings on Saturday. XD
If you order the fried cheese squares - eat them quickly. When they come out hot and gooey they're pretty nice, but they cool down fast into a solid and meh block of cheese. The rest of the food was also pretty good, especially their white cheese shell mac n' cheese they use as their side. Alongside that they have some really unique Jethro's sauces on the table to try.Service was fine and restaurant was clean, not much to say there.

Service was fine, the bathrooms were hard to find especially the fact that the diaper changing bathrooms are in the back. The food was ok, the burnt ends were dryer than at other Jethro's and had less of the sauce on them. I will say it is one of the better bbq places in Ames.
Was visiting Ames and noted this BBQ joint. I really wanted smoked turkey which is my favorite BBQ meat. Walked in to a very clean and pleasant space with decor combination of cowboys and Iowa State memorabilia. Friendly and attentive staff. Placed my order and was advised 20 min wait time which was accurate. Ordered a beer and sat at the bar. My order was accurate. The turkey breast was delicious but perhaps a little dry. Sides of potato salad and cole slaw were delicious. Ordered chicken wings for another meal and they were huge and very tasty as well! I will certainly return!
We tried this place today for the first time. The food was great and our server Emily was awesome. She explained everything on the menu and made suggestions that we wouldn't have realized on our own. We will definitely be returning
Fun atmosphere, plenty to choose from on the menu. Pretty busy on a Saturday night, but service was wonderful, with a friendly staff. Having the gaming area for the kids is a plus. The BBQ was great, plenty of options and everyone was satisfied. Lots of Iowa State students enjoying a Saturday evening out.
