First time I've ever eaten at Freddy's. The bacon cheeseburger was very good, the fries were decent, and the chocolate shake was fantastic. A week later, I have thought about that shake daily. Definitely worth the trip.
Frozen custard is a tried and true classic. The frozen steakburgers, on the other hand, are a little less common. Despite my hesitancy at first, after trying them I can assure you that this restaurant is one of the better options in town.

I ordered just a simple cheeseburger last week & when I opened the box there was a huge nasty long hair right on top of the bun-& the person making the burgers (shocker!) had long hair. And nobody from the local place has contacted me about it
It’s such a hit and miss at the Ames location. Ordered online and confirmed we were there and still waited 20 minutes with 2 people in the lobby. I asked if it was ready and she said yes, which it had been for awhile yet no one said anything. Good cold and spilled all over the bag. The concrete we ordered, still had a full brownie piece like they added it after. Like I said, we’ve had great experiences here before, and also terrible ones.
