There were 2 shrimp shell pieces mixed in with my fries. Unfortunately I didn’t see the pieces until I had eaten most of my food. I had a patty melt and my partner had a gyro so there was absolutely no reason for shrimp to have come in contact with our food in any capacity. It felt like an allergy hazard and it was definitely off-putting to the point where I didn’t finish my food. Also a random guy was walking around the restaurant asking if we ate which was confusing because they were in gym shorts and a baseball cap and no apron or uniform to indicate that they were in any way affiliated with the restaurant. Just a very bizarre experience. On the plus side, our waitress was very kind, and the service was fast.

Love the Gyro here. Nice portion and plenty of the cucumber sauce. Friendly staff and management. They make you feel like family. Food is very good.
My husband and I were given a gift certificate to Flame and Skewer and we were finally able to use it.They have the seating set up to provide space for being socially distanced and our waiter was phenomenal.At times like this especially sue to the pandemic I know its hard for them to find good help and when you do its amazing when they stick around.We will be back soon to eat here again. The food came out fast, hot and fresh.
Place has good gyro and amazing pita, but when it comes to the side with your meal - pick the fries over the rice. The rice is surely edible, but it tastes kind of stale/off. Had to mix in the sauce a bit to mask the weird part of it.Besides that, no complaints at all - a very good place.Servers seemed very nice :)

Love their grilled veggies, burgers and shrimp. Very friendly good service.

The Flame and Skewer sets the standard for the best gyro in Ames. A great dining experience. Quiet, lots of TVs, kid friendly, and a diverse menu. We visit often. Always a pleasure to dine with Mo and his staff.
