Food was just food. Burgers are not worth $10+ each. I have had way better food from fast food places. The bacon was burnt like it was damned. Burnt bacon and the sub par burgers and hot dog made this place a no go for me. Employees at this location were openly fighting with one another which made the order take a long time as well as an all around unpleasant environment(I usually find it entertaining personally and offer commentary to feed the flames).
Very fast service by a very, helpful, professional and friendly staff. There is plenty of parking on the west side of the building and easy to get to and leaving because of the stoplight.
Best burger I have had in years. Service was fantastic and restaurant was spotless. Five guys Ames will continue to make the best burgers in my book
Food is great and staff are great but the women's bathroom and toilet stool were bitterly cold. I told my husband I don't want to dine in at 5 Guys anymore
Had Five Guys for the first time today. I didn't try fries this time but the burger SLAPPED like a stepdad named Kevin.
First and last visit. Over priced, $53.01 total. A 3 customer ticket and no drinks.
Honestly best five guys or burger place in Ames and plus the service it top notch, it slaps. Also whoever the manager is give that man DaiSean a mf raise, he really be deserving it
The food is usually fresh, hot, and delicious, but tonight it wasn’t fresh at all, except the fries which had to be made when I got there to pick up the order. The burgers, which were lacking the A1 steak sauce that we ordered, had been sitting in bags for a while and the bag was soggy and leaking mayo when I got it to my truck. These were NOT $15 burgers by any stretch of the imagination, and to top it off I was charged for two shakes which we didn’t get because their machine was “down” and now I have to call a number if I want a refund. So I spent almost $70, including tip, for a mediocre, at best, meal. I’m not sure I’ll go back to this Five Guys.
The burger was fine and the fries were warm. The salt wasn't well distributed, some were like a salt block while others seemed unsalted. One soda machine was broken and most tables were needing cleaned. They seemed to be understaffed, like most other fast food restaurants. People complain about the price, but we spend a similar amount at most other fast food restaurants. I guess that is what inflation will do to you.
First time ever in a five guys. A friend said let's eat here. I thought great I wanted to check it out. We walked in and stood in a short line. When it got to our turn the man behind the counter said it will be a little bit he had to help the young lady. Ok. Not a problem. 10 minutes later he said I'm sorry I will be right with you. 5 min later he starts cleaning the griddle and other stuff. There was a 3rd worker who vanished during all this. Then the third time he said I know it will just be a minute. I said if you dont take o ur order I am leaving. He looked at me and turned around and ignored me. My friend said let's go. First experience in there. It will be the last. You get one chance to impress me. You failed.
