Nice place to stop in with friends. They have a good selection of burgers and they are pretty good. The fries have a seasoning that is OK but not great. My daughter was not a fan of the mac and cheese. We also got the "Nachos" as an appetitizer. It's made with tater tots instead of chips, and there is no meat. I am a stickler for clean tasty water and it was top notch. Our server was great even though he was running around like crazy trying to attend all of his tables. We never felt ignored. I did think it was silly to watch him get drinks and refills for everyone while the guy at the bar did nothing but chat with people. Excellebt Service is a team effort. The bar tender isn't showing this at all. I am sure our server is going to drop from exhaustion.

The appetizer was good, but everything else wasn't that good. I had the 60/40 burger and it was smashed thin and very dry. All others in the party was pretty much the same. Service was good, but everyone was pretty much crowded in the same area when the whole restaurant was available.
Doesn’t have the same comfy feel as their prior location….. I go here for the fish and chips-unfortunately this time a little disappointed as much smaller than previous times. Daughter did not get her side of fries…took a little bit to get considering we were one of two tables of diners in there. Overall food was good, good prices, friendly staff. Just hope they return to original fish!

I eat a lot of salads. It's hard to find a place that has great salads. I ordered the Black and Blue salad and it was fantastic. The steak was a generous portion of Philly type steak. Every bite had a little of everything. One of my top salads ever!
Tonight, I had ordered an Absolutly Peachy (how it is spelled on the menu) and it came out tasting awful. It tasted like the grenadine and water. She suggested that the Sprite machine was out and took the glass away. When she came back I informed her that I wanted a beer instead. She stated that my drink was almost finished being made (Interesting as I had not asked for it to be remade but instead would have ordered the beer had she cared to listen). I accepted that the drink was being remade. It came back tasting the same-did not taste good. I told her this and she asked if I wanted the Beer now. She delivered it and I drank it with my meal. When we got our checks I noticed that the first drink was still on there and asked for it to be taken off (I did not drink it as it was disgusting). THIS is when she informed me that their resturants pokicy is that since it was deliverer as described she can not take it off my bill. I was floored. This is a terrible policy, especially since I had not asked for it to be replaced. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING SINCE THEY CAN NOT MAKE A WRONG RIGHT. It was only $6 but the Prinipal being that the policy states that even of they served your drink with flat pop you have to pay for it. I am shocked at this.
Rated best burger in Ames. I honestly prefer the honey garlic chicken. Crispy sweet and delicious. Hidden gem, the Crab Rangoons and fries.
We were in town for our sons first college visit. We decided to try this place because of its burger reviews. Place is nice and in a nice location. We had the nachos which were good but nothing spectacular. We had the 60/20 burger, Mac cheese burger, and the 4x2 burger with fries. Fries were decent but the burgers were terrible. Over cooked and the sweet sauce they put on it ruined any chance it had of being edible. They have a good selection of food so maybe other menu items better. The advertisement on their site says voted Iowa’s best burger. 5 guys is ten times better!
We visited for lunch while visiting relatives. The pub has a nice atmosphere and is probably a great place to watch a game with all of the large screen TV's. Service was ok and food was fair. Hamburger was way overcooked. Interesting that my wife ordered a chicken sandwich. She told them to hold the bun but would like an extra piece of lettuce to substitute for the bun. The lettuce was small and wilted..nothing special. We were shocked to see that we actually charged for the extra piece of wilted lettuce, especially since we saved them the cost of a bun. This has never happened at any other restaurant and charging for this is beneath most restaurants (not a huge deal but certainly head-scratching). The charge was not much but it was the principle of it. Just an observation...nice newly renovated bar that can accommodate hundreds of people....men's bathroom had one urinal and 1 toilet...I can imaging the back-up here on busy nights. Doesn't seem to be great planning here.
