This place is one of the top two places in the area for high quality Schezwan style food (the other being Ichiban in Lafayette). Everything I've tried has been perfectly done, full of flavor, and rich in spices.Compared to Ichiban:- The golden fish has no sauce on it, and a smaller portion. I think the flavor and heat is better at Peppercorn's. The sauce at Ichiban makes the breading soggy on the fish.- The atmosphere is much at Ichiban. If you are on a hot date and you are hoping it goes somewhere, go to Ichiban. If you're out for lunch with friends, Peppercorn is more appropriate.- Ichiban has a much more expansive menu.- There are more bubble tea options in the area around Peppercorn's.
Food is good but the price is way too high. The same dish I get in Chicago is 20% cheaper.
Legit Chinese food. If you're into spicy foods/have a mala (numbing spiciness) craving this is your place to go. Non spicy items are also legit, China-level chef good.Give the chef recommended items a try (like the Xinjiang style chicken)! Pretty difficult to find even in dense large US cities. They are pricier but often much larger in portions that you can eat over a few days. All in all great value for the quality
Though the food was good, I found glass in the water I was drinking... didn't know why...?
You can enjoy many kinds of authentic Chinese dishes! The food is a bit expensive so I recommend you visit with a large group of people so that you can share multiple dishes while splitting the money.
Absolutely amazing food and quick service ! You can call ahead and make a reservation. We had the Spring Rolls, Hot Buns for appetizers. Both were amazing! For main course we have the Dry Pot Tofu, Mango Chicken and Chicken in Garlic Sauce. The Dry Pot Tofu was the best amongst all followed by Dry Chicken in Garlic Sauce. Be ready to pay 1$ per person for unlimited white rice. Your bill arrives with Gratuity included , I actually love this process … makes it lot easy! Visit here , it’s located right on State Street and Wabash Landings Marketplace
English is a second language at best to none, just have to point and hope. Customer service is terrible. Food is more inline with traditional style Chinese. Prices are very high, be prepared to pay upwards of a 100.00 for 2 people for a full course meal! Watch for them adding in a MANDATORY tip. What I don’t understand is the high prices for things like intestines and feet? Something Americans normally would throw out. I question the freshness of ingredients.
Had a wonderful meal there8/24. We ordered green beans, double cooked pork and tripe for appetizer. It is a true gem in Lafayette college town.we will drive up there from Indianapolis more often for good authentic Szechuan food.
Amazing food and a great atmosphere!
Some of the best food I’ve ever had. I got a chicken mushroom meal and it was incredible! The restaurant is very nice, the food is priced well, and the staff is very friendly! Would definitely go again and I definitely recommend!!
