It is the best Japanese food I have ever had.
I come here often since I moved to Lafayette. Maru is the best sushi in town. The service is excellent and the itamae and shokunin do an excellent job. The only thing I would ask them to improve would be to offer sushi omekase using higher end fish like chutoro and otoro.
Everything was really good. Very fresh. Best sushi I've had since moving to the Midwest.
The best sushi spot in the area, I have been here a couple times over the past decade and more recently since Sushi-Don removed their happy hour pricing. It is great to have an authentic friendly spot on campus and a well decorated atmosphere with friendly staff to indulge in the raw sea goods. Just recently we went for a couple of good rolls and I did the house specialty in the hot pot, it turned out to be insanely hilariously hot way too hot even after ice cubes were added leaving my glass only water. Next time I will go for the basic bowl saving some cash and taste buds, thankfully the sushi was amazing and right on point from experiences and the past. This is the only place I've been to in the Midwest where I feel I'm getting my money's worth, very fresh ingredients and good flavors with original rolls and specialty house sauces make for indulgent and excellent dishes. The gyoza was also very tasty. Parking here is a problem during the week as everything gets crowded and the construction never ends. The parking garage has a mind of its own now too and I'm not sure what the situation there is anymore. Seems like the best option is to wander around looking for a good two hour spot on the street or come after five since the street parking expires in two hours at seven.
the food and service here was amazing! i ordered the sweet potato roll and teriyaki tofu. both were great. highly recommend!
Very good sushi rice... made the rolls to notch. Great tempura.. crispy and light veggies... not too thick not to thin. Nice place good menu good people
My significant other loves the sushi and I love the bulgogi!
This is the best sushi place to which I have ever been. I love their volcano roll!
Very authentic! As a Japanese speaker and someone who has visited Japan, I can attest that the tempura is really well done, the batter is thin and crispy. The ingredients are different. Haha, like broccoli and onion and cucumber, rather than the traditional pumpkin, carrot, lotus root.
Did is always the freshest, best tasting sushi in the area. Don't go anywhere else.
