The pizza is not the same. I live out of state and always make sure to get Tony's pizza. However, it tasted like it had lots of cheddar in it. Also, more tomato sauce. I will not be back!!
Pizza is average, but satisfying. I recommend their deep dish, and menu prices are very affordable. The biggest thing is to remember they are cash only.
The restaurant is dark and dirty inside. The floors are stained carpet (gross). The booth seats are torn and duct taped together. Service was friendly, but slow.(Sat. Afternoon not busy) I had a Tony Hero sandwich. It was terrible. The "steak" was a chopped meat frozen patty with gill marks from the processor. It comes with lettuce and tomato to top the sandwich. However, the lettuce was a salad mix with carrots and other veggies mixed in. It was like something I made as a college age cook. The management did take it off my bill. Although, I did have to eat somewhere else. For shame!
The eggplant parm is wonderful , the meatballs are delicious, and the lasagna is great! My new favorite place to eat. I don't like red sauce and I purchased a jar of their pasta sauce, it's delicious...Lol!
Still has good food Christina was one one waiting on tables and the bar tender also . Place is really showing it's. AGE needs TLC still Worth going to eat. Christina did a excellent Job.
We tried Tony’s for the first time this evening and we were SO IMPRESSED! The service was amazing, and the food was so so good! The flavor of the pizza was like something we’ve never tasted but want more of! So good Tony’s! My son had the beef sandwich and he loved it! Great spot and such a homey atmosphere!
The service was great, the food was delicious, and our kids keep asking when we will be back for the cheesy pizza (stuffed deep dish I think it was called). The downside is it is a cash only restaurant (we normally don't have cash on us but thankfully we did that day); however, they do have an on-site ATM.Also, I was torn about the drinks. The cost was about $1.25(?) per drink and they do not offer free refills and the cups are a bit smaller compared to other restaurants standard sizes. I personally don't drink much when at a restaurant - typically 1/2 or 1 full glass - but I was able to drink 4 glasses there (I don't know, maybe I was thirsty that day?). However, they do have an option to order pitchers which is what we ended up doing as it was more cost effective. Lastly, I'm not sure if the glasses are all the same size or if they vary based on a single drink order versus a pitcher order. This wasn't a big deal but more of a "notification" for those it matter to.Overall, we enjoyed this place and have now decided to make this another tradition when we visit family in Indiana.
Some things never change. We have been coming here Many years. Friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices. Never disappoints.
I love the atmosphere of this place. It has a dark Northwoods vibe. Service is always good here. The bar is my preferred area to have dinner. There are booths and tables in the bar area. They are locally famous for the pizza, it is good but I go for the Italian beef sandwiches. They are lean, on great bread, and always delicious. Be sure to bring cash they do not accept credit cards.
Not many places outside of Chicago get my approval for pizza, but Tony's is delicious. Fresh ingredients. Awesome crust. Yum!
