I don't know how Valparaiso, Indiana got so lucky to be the host of a sister restaurant from Oklahoma, but I am so glad for it! Everything I've had here has been so delicious from chicken to shrimp to catfish. It's a briny flavor you can't find anywhere else in town and I crave it!
The food here is absolutely delicious! Friendly service. Large portions. All around great place. Haven't had fish that good since I lived near the gulf of Mexico. Hush puppies were delicious and fresh. Sauces are awesome! Can't say enough good things.
Eat here all the time chicken sandwich is amazing probably my favorite ever. I ordered today and got 2 chicken sandwich combos and it was dryer than the Sahara desert. Food was terrible tonight. I love this place. Hence why I’m leaving 5 stars. I love the chicken here. I don’t know what the cook was doing tonight though. Not sure if I want to take my chances again.
Very Disappointed. Better off going to attacks for fish they will cook it for you too and chicken. Actually better off going anywhere else. It probably would have been good. I didn’t care that we had to go back for a couple missing things. But when we got home I realized that who ever seasoned the fries did it with my cat fish in with it and all that salt was on my cat fish so I couldn’t eat the cat fish. The salt was stuck on it so I couldn’t get it off. The fries were bland because all the salt was in my cat fish. I also didn’t get my hush puppy and it was supposed to come with it. Tastes horrible. Both of our meals were horrible and dry as the dessert.
Food is good, but the service SUCKS. The college students taking orders have no idea what's even on the menu, and the prices in the restaurant are higher than what they advertise online. They're also charging some ridiculous $1 per item "COVID fee" without telling their customers. Last time I was there I ordered 2x catfish and 1x chicken. After waiting patiently for 40min I asked what was going on. They told me it would be another 30min before I got my food. I asked for a refund and they told me - we can't do refunds back to a credit card, and we don't have enough cash. When I insisted they had to collect $51.33 from the register and staff to give me my money back...Get your $#!+ together and maybe you'll survive.
Owner and staff were amazing! So polite and nice. We tried cat fish for the first time and it was delicious. It tasted just like a home cooked meal. We will definitely be regular customers
This place is a must! It is a hidden jewel! Food is superb! The cook/Owner was outstanding!He came out personally to make sure we were enjoying the food. You can tell he is passionate about the food he creates! I ordered perch on a sandwich, which he hadn't put the perch on a sandwich before, so he came out to our table and made sure i was enjoying it. I highly recommend , and it was perfectly put together , he asked me how it was? I replied excellent, but it needs pickles, without hesitation he went to the back and got them for me to add , it was perfection!♥️ He made sure my husband tried all the best sauces and food, being our first time there. He went above and beyond! Thank u so much!
This place will now be my new go to for excellent fried chicken & catfish. I tried it for the first time over this past weekend and it was worth the drive there and back. The lady at the register that took my order was very friendly and pleasant from the jump. She explained the menu to me and my lady friend and answered any questions that we had in the process. After placing the order the owner came out and spoke with us and explained the background behind the great establishment and future plans to come to enhance the business. He was so professional, cool and down to earth. I didn't get a who cares if these people come back type of feel from him like most of these business owners. I got a I appreciate your business and I want you to come back & also tell your friends and family about this place type of feel & that is what it's all about. I NEVER take the time to leave reviews but I felt I owed him a positive review from how great the owner, the workers and the service was as a whole. Will definitely be coming back. P.S. The Hot Sauce & Mild Sauce that I tried which they make themselves is a hit and is a must get if you go there. Chicken & Fish is greatly seasoned.
Me and my friends eat here like we get paid for it. They’re always playing some lit anime on the TV every time we walk in. The employees always are friendly and joke around with us. This place makes me ignore my gluten intolerance because it’s just that good. According to Walter Edward Todd, “Y’know how some food falls off the bone? Louie’s catfish is so tender it falls off the air. It falls off the void.” That’s a real quote from a conversation that two teenage boys had, and none of us got paid to say it. In fact, we threw our money at Louie’s in order to say it. It was literally out of pocket. In the corporate world, Louie’s has turned us into what would be called raving fans and we will never be the same. Personally, I have no regrets about it. I never leave a review when I eat somewhere but Louie’s is simply different. Louie’s is THE spot. Louie is quite simply THAT guy.
It's a huge hassle to get to, and impossible to park. But the food is worth every struggle. I always forget this place exists. Then I'm so happy when I remember and get to eat their catfish.
