Best prices around for authentic Mexican cuisine. I can get dinner for 2 for just around even under $20. They have friendly staff and even work with those of us that can be a bit picky about how we want the tacos and burritos topped. This place is in my top 3 for dinner choices for many reasons, the food quality, value, and most importantly is taste (actual steak not some substitute for steak especially). With inflation they are still reasonable with their prices.

The people giving bad reviews need to stick to Taco Bell. El Amigo is delicious, authentic, and cheap. Anyone who knows good Mexican food knows this is the best place in town.

Worst "burrito" I have ever had.First, their definition of burrito is: tortilla + cheese + meat, and that's it. No beans or veggies. Also, there was no flavor to the meat or the cheese to make up for lack of other ingredients.Second, their meat tastes ... Gamey? I guess that's the best way to describe it. It was supposed to be steak but it was extremely gristly. Perhaps overcooked?Lastly, I was charged $8 for this sub-par meat, cheese, and tortilla abomination. Which I honestly should have used at the store to buy ingredients to make it myself. I would advise you to do the same.

I have been here several timee and it's always great. Sometimes I eat in sometimes I pick up and the food is always delicious.one of the only places the sells Jamaica in the area which is Soo flavorful and authentic! The nachos are great the chicken tacos are good and so are the quesdillas! They follow my instructions (I don't like beans) and they never forget to take them off highly recommend!

I have never had a bad burrito at this place and when I worked in Valpo I would go there quite a bit. The prices are pretty reasonable as well.

Had a steak burrito with the house Verde Salsa and it was awesome. The steak and beans were all packaged neatly inside, and the actual steak was minced rather than stripped pieces, but had fantastic flavour. It was a lovely and filling meal and I'd love to come back again at some point.

Ordered a to-go meal. Quality was average and flavor profile lacking. Prices are fair. Customer services could use a little improvement as well.

This was so much like the Mexican food I grew up with in Arizona. I'm so excited to find a little (seems to be) family-run place like this in my new area. Enchiladas were great. Beans and rice were fantastic and the salsa and pico they brought out with chips were good and spicy. Awesome!

100% better quality food service and portions compared to El Saltos.Authentic and affordable. Large filling portions. Love this place+Love an old fashioned bottle of coke cola while I'm waiting

Update: the burritos became so bad and poorly made that I stopped going there.Wow, just eaten a Asada burrito, $6.50 and one of the best burritos I’ve had. Nice and crispy on the outside, no horrible bits of gristle or fat in the meat, a good size. This place is open from 10 AM till 10:30 PM seven days a week. The town should support it, quality like this is not common.
