Unclean 70's atmosphereWalking in takes you back in time, to also a place that definitely needs to feel more clean. I saw a dead cocroch by the window. The velvet furniture and classic arcade games will make you re-think what year it is. The drinks are ok, I ordered a chai tea latte, but it didn't have much flavor. Not a large selection of drinks and nothing original. There is a dirt lot for parking in the back.

This place is great! Such a nice space with a welcoming and inclusive environment. The employees there were super friendly. Great drinks too. Highly recommend this as a work spot or a place to quietly read midday

Stopped in to get some fresh locally roasted beans. It was a frustrating experience. None of the beans list a roast level. They don't put much info on the bags, just a qr code to go-to for info. It leads to a site that isn't finished. I selected some beans and was told they were decaf. There wasn't even any indication on the bag that it was decaf. None of the coffee is priced. When I asked about the price, I was just given a price range. I'm happy to find local fresh roasted coffee. I hope they can improve the customer experience.

Would have given 1 star if only rating the service…maybe woman who helped us having a bad day??We were so excited to check it out per the reviews… stood around quite a bit when we arrived as no one seemed to be taking orders or even care we we there. When we were able to place our order, we mentioned it was out first visit and ‘was it Kodachrome or Zen?” (We had seen both names in reviews) Woman was not interested and flat in her response. “Same owner just name change” okayyyy enuf of the small talk despite no one behind us in line, lol…moving along to the order…Coffee was good BUT :Surprised the coffees are SO SMALL, like the size of this font. Great if you just want a shot of coffee; kidding…but seriously maybe it was 5 ounces?Don’t go if you’re hoping for a variety of milk options. You can choose Whole milk or Oat. That’s it. Go crazy.Bring your own sugar as they offer none. Odd. You can request simple syrup but that’s still strange.Staff in no hurry so plan on waiting 7-10 minutes for your coffee after you order. You can peruse the 100+ pieces of mushroom- themed pottery while you wait.Again, coffee was decent but only prepared lukewarm. And expensive for how little you receive. We will try other cafes for future as we didn’t feel welcome or appreciated as customers.

Zen's uniquely cozy atmosphere and warm, knowledgeable staff are the best. They offer oat milk (at no additional cost) and house-made sweeteners for vegan-friendly drinks like chai lattes, matcha lattes, and more.

Great coffee, great service, great space to hang out/do work. Just be aware that it’s a little pricey.

I really like this place, and I’m thankful to have it in South Bend. I wish it had a bike rack and a way to recycle. Would also love the return of pet friendly visits.

The coffee was good. Nothing extraordinary. I was shocked to get such a tiny cup of coffee for $3. And I just got plain coffee. The atmosphere was common relaxing. Clean. Beautiful interior. If not for the price they would have gotten five stars.

Wonderful coffee. Beautiful environment. Old meets modern. Spacious and inviting. The staff worked so incredibly hard and made fantastic beverages. They are on it! The wait was long most likely due to it being a Saturday at 10, ND move in weekend and the start of the hustle and bustle of the city. Props to the staff. ❤️

First time visiting this location. Had been to the old location several times and it was great. The baristas were rushing around and it wasn't even busy. Just threw my coffee together to the point it looked like it was made in a keurig. We go to craft coffee places so they actually craft the coffee. It's not Starbucks, folks won't mind waiting an extra minute or two.The new space looks great though. ?
