Good beer. Small place, but good beer. Nothing else really matters.
Good beer selection. The food was delicious. Having plastic cups instead of a frosty mug keeps this from getting 5 stars.
Solid gluten free pizza, great staff and lots of options but would be great if they carried some form of gluten free beer or a less sweet cider.
Bartender was great but their beer cooler was down, we took our meeting elsewhere.
I had a ticket to Notre Dame’s Planetarium but needed dinner before the show. I love South Bend Brew Werks, but wasn’t able to get to town soon enough to get there and back before it started, so I began looking for other options. I saw Danny Boy listed near the college, so I decided to stop. I’m so glad I did! Once I found the place (it’s tucked into an apartment complex across from the college-go to the back parking lot once you turn in) I enjoyed my visit. Walking past an outdoor covered seating area into an industrial feel restaurant, you’ll find the place is small with a concrete top bar and tables both high and low. The video board overhead offers up the selection of beers. There are both craft beers that they brew in Carmel, IN and a selection of other brands. The house brewed are tasty, and if you’re not into those, there is a full bar. I had a few tastes, finally settling on the CinderellaMan, a grapefruit IPA. I ordered dinner off the menu full of wraps, sandwiches, pizzas and salads, and enjoyed my drink. The bartender was just the right amount of attentive to his crowd, and kindly answered all the questions I peppered him with. Once the meal arrived, I tucked into my delicious ham & cheese on marbled rye. The cook made a trip out to offer me the home made ranch dressing as a dip for the chips that came with my sandwich; it was really tasty! After my meal I tried two stouts; Church-a milk stout, and Holy Water-a flavored milk stout where the raspberry shone brightly. I would recommend a visit if you’re out and about the Notre Dame area, I am sure you’ll find something to enjoy at Danny Boys!
Good drinks, great food, reasonably priced. The atmosphere is pretty chill, but if it gets too busy it can feel a bit cramped. It’s our favorite place to watch ND hockey games though!
Nice little brewery in the heart of ND. Several craft beers, a cider and a few domestics- Bud Lite, Yueng Ling. Typical menu- pizza, sandwiches, etc. Beer is good, food ok. Under staffed, slow service- like everywhere. Pricing is typical. Worth a try. Will go again.
Great staff, service, and food! The 1st time I was here, and the 1st Notre Dame game in 52 years of life. We beat USC, and that was the icing on the cake!
Had pizza, wine, beer and a great time! The Hit Man pizza (Hint of bbq sauce, peppers sausage with fennel among other ingredients) was really good. The giant pretzel with their house made beer cheese is excellent too. Thanks to Brendan and Todd for great food and service!
Danny Boy has really good vibes for a casual drink. The options on tap are all really good and their menu of appetizers and pizza provides decent choices for food. Sometimes it can be a bit crowded, and the space is not really optimized for a crowd. When it’s at a normal capacity, however, Danny Boy is a good time.
