The male servers are always very nice, personable and provide quick service. I only say male servers because I don't think I ever had a female server there. Delicious food and the mango margarita is fabulous ???
Just had dinner last night at La Carreta and unfortunately had a bad experience. All 5 of us ordered the carne asada plate and what we got was not skirt steak. This substitute was tough and fatty. When we brought it to the attention of the manager, his excuse was a new employee but never rectified the “mistake” or apologized. Sorry not going back.
We went a couple mounts ago service was terrible we ended d up leaving without eating. So we decided to try it again. Last night my husband and I got there before the couple we where waiting for and ordered an drink Appetizer which got there right away. When the other couple got there we ordered our food. The food tasted good but we waited 1 hour for it and the waiter never came back and check on us didn't ask if we wanted refills. I definitely will not not going back to this place. Too many other good places to go. Service is not what it use to be. Very disappointed ??☹️
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the measly chips and salsa we had tonight... After being seated for roughly 25 minutes without being waited on, my boyfriend and I, who were with our 7 yr. old son for dinner (around 6:15 p.m. Sunday), decided to leave.Upon arriving, we were seated promptly as there was no waiting for a table. Great! However, we were given a far back-in-the-corner-table in the back room which should've been our first clue dinner wasn't going to be had at this restaurant. We were seated with menus, chips, and salsa. Our table was missing the salt shaker (which we needed), but more importantly, we weren't given ANY PLATES, SILVERWARE, NAPKINS OR WATER!!! Fine. We waited. Even after salsa was dropped on 2 menus.And we waited. For sure someone would be by to come get our drink orders and our appetizer orders, at the very least, right? WRONG!! NO ONE EVER CAME TO CHECK ON US, BRING US ANYTHING, OR TAKE OUR ORDER FOR ANYTHING!!!IN FACT, WHEN WE WERE ABLE TO FLAG A WAITER DOWN AND BRING IT TO HIS ATTENTION THAT NO ONE HAD WAITED ON US YET, HE SAID HE WOULD LET THEM (UP FRONT) KNOW IMMEDIATELY. ALMOST 7 MINUTES LATER AND STILL NO ONE CAME. It was a waste of almost half and hour. If i could give less than 1 ⭐, I would.I thought for sure La Carreta was in the service industry, the restaurant industry, the food and beverage industry... IS IT NOT?!? OR IS IT THAT SOME PEOPLE'S MONEY JUST ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR THIS RESTAURANT???!!??Idk. I truly don't know. Highly disappointed in what seems to be a well-known and popular establishment, but after tonight's less than even mediocre act, not sure if we will ever support them as a local business again. IT'S LIKE THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY.When we notified the manager that we were leaving, he looked very sheepish and apologized...and then offered us a table in the front of the restaurant! SMH. I’ve eaten here many times and it’s always been great. However, this time I had it delivered. I’m not sure what happened but something was definitely off. I ordered a chicken dish with shrimp and it was absolutely tasteless, and the shrimp smelled FISHY and looked like they were not cooked all the way. I will just say that after eating, I threw up the most I have ever in my entire life. Maybe it was food poisoning, I’m not sure, but now I’m afraid to eat there again. ?
I came here for dinner last night. The parking lot looked like the place was busy, but I was able to get a table as soon as I walked in. The place was nicely decorated with different painted murals on the walls and felt like I was really dining at a Mexican restaurant at a hotel. A few minutes after being seated, my waitress, Maria, arrived with a basket of hot chips and bowl of salsa. I was so hungry that I ate all the chips in the basket. The salsa tasted pretty good.Drink: Strawberry Mojito. The drink was very refreshing, but it got pretty sweet after a while. I still enjoyed it.Entree: Shrimp tacos. The dish came with rice and beans. The lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese for the tacos came on the side. The tacos were wrapped in tin foil to keep them hot. Wow! the shrimp tacos were so good! They were grilled nicely, were juicy, and had lots of flavor.Overall, I really enjoyed eating here. I just wished I had gotten the banana loco for dessert. It looked so good!
Granted there was a party ahead of us, sitting down we waited over an hour for our order to come through. The food didn’t deliver like it was pumped up to be. A lot of the food was over cooked and mushy. 5 years ago seemed like a much better delivery on the menu. I think at this point I can’t recommend going back. After all the orders, we were charged $170 plus a mandatory tip of $23. I think tips should be optional. People seemed friendly, not sure what happened in five years.
Love this place … but need to remember to order the smallest drink ..any other size when your out if practice can actually get you drunk … lol .. just kidding … wink - wink
I give this positive recommendation, only based on past experiences which have been much better. This last visit was quite different. It took about an hour to get our food, which was piping hot and enjoyable; however, by the time our food arrived, the two of us had almost consumed two baskets of chips, served warm and delicious. Because we desired our main entrees, we left uncomfortably full. Maybe this is attributed to what is taking place across the country, short cook staff. We'll try again, but will give it some time.
