This place was a real old school type diner. The food was great, affordable, and prompt. I got a the Riverside Breakfast with a waffle. Two eggs, bacon and sausage and a waffle. $6.99. The eggs were exactly as I asked for, the waffle was everything I want a waffle to be. It all came out in 5 minutes. The atmosphere is basic just like the menu and the coffee, but everything there was great and a good deal.
Four wait staff on the floor, and all the customers were crammed into one section. The other half of the dining room was empty...Food was ok. The lasagna soup wasn't the greatest. But their onion rings were awesome!!Loved that they condensed their menu!
This place honestly deserves a 5 star for the quality of their food. However I cannot in good conscience give them a 5 star although I absolutely love their food because they do not cooperate well with door dash. The liver and onions is my favorite meal and it's on the menu for a great price, however I live all the way across town. Not very convenient, thankfully door dash exists, however what I want although I've ordered it with door dash many times before 11am (lunch time) was said to have not been available to me today, i tried calling and absolutely nobody picks up the phone here and when you mention it to them their excuse is "oh we are too busy" so is every other restaurant around but they still give a better effort to get to their phones. I personally feel like Riverside cafe doesn't even bother and just took their phones off the hook because when I call the phone doesn't actually ring. ??♀️??♀️ Anyways the only other thing to do was cancel my order with door dash and receive a partial refund. Can't exactly say I'm very thrilled with that. I wanted to really make a point so I drove across town and ordered the exact same thing I ordered on door dash not even 20 min after placing my order with door dash at 9amish. I received what I ordered no issue, so why is it I cannot get someone to make the same order and have it delivered to me, why do I have to drive across town to make a point? I noticed on both the door dash menu as well as the menu I received in the cafe is that liver and onions is on the menu and nowhere on there does it say unavailable till 11am. If you have it on the menu then your customers should absolutely be able to order it. Please remedy this. Next time I order I hope you guys will fill my order because I absolutely know now that you don't have an excuse not to (other than we are out of that item) also please hook your phones back up it really is bad for business. Thank you.
Side salad that was brought out was not appealing to the eye nor just putting large chunks of lettuce in there were a great idea. Spaghetti dinner was awful sauce was overcooked. Veggie omelette with hashbrowns hashbrowns were not edible and the omelette was not appealing to the taste buds or to the eye. It’s pretty bad when the only thing that was enjoyable was my toast.
Fun atmosphere, friendly service, good food, and a wonderful breakfast there.
Really good food and HUGE portions for reasonable price. Waitress was nice and checked often to see if we needed anything. Plus, out of they're awesome menu of everything you can think of, they serve anything on the menu anytime including breakfast all day. ??
So...grab your own menu and seat yourself. It was busy,waitress was very attentive to our needs. Had the country fried steak. It was mouth watering delicious, nice and crispy on the outside, very warm cooked to a nice smooth texture. Not too chewy, just perfected seasoning as well. Lacking was the decoration an wide opened space we all ate in. Some private space would bring me in,to be more exclusive to the party I was enjoying. Felt like I was being stared down across the way. Diner was cold, felt, like no heat was on. Luckily I was wearing wool socks. Didn't stay long, it was unfortunately unbearable how cold the temperature was. Also unfortunate that a male host or manager in the middle of diner yelled me to settle my bill with my waitress,would give me no chance to speak,an yelled again over a table of customers....before realizing my waitress is working on my check. An no apology for the rude hollering in the middle the floor. Of course the waitress was apologetic which....I bought. The food was good but I wont be back for awhile...
My mom loves this place and wanted us to try it. Any roast beef item wasn't on the menu but I can't hold it against them because of shipping issues. The waitress seemed new and I don't have a problem with new people they have to learn some how but if you aren't sure on something please ask. Our sides came out randomly and seemed to have been forgotten about. Although the food was cooked perfectly it was pretty bland. She spilt hot liquid on my jeans as well. I don't know if I'll be back personally.
My daughters and I ate there for the first time today got there about 3 pm Our server was great He was working his butt off was very busy but doing a great job. The chicken and Mac n cheese as awesome .
We had breakfast for dinner and it was delicious! I had an omelette with hash browns and my husband had eggs, french toast and biscuits and gravy - which were all very good. Out server was really sweet and took excellent care of us (I'm so sorry I forgot her name). Loved hearing the other staff interacting with customers - a very friendly atmosphere.
