Hidden gem in plain sight. Everywhere else on a Saturday night at 7:00 pm, people are waiting 45 min to over an hour to eat out.Came in, to Hi Ho, we're seated immediately, had excellent service, and amazing food.Their green tea and food is the best Chinese food I've had in three states every time. How this place isn't packed every night shocks me. The pot stickers are fantastic, the egg rolls are crispy, fresh, and delicious. Every entree we had was superb. The prices are more than reasonable.Every time we come into town we make it a point to stop and have a meal here. Highly recommend!
This place is alright ....for chinease food... I feel like they have dropped off in quality a little, over the past 4 or 5 years...
Wife and I was not disappointed. We both remember this place when it was next to Tradewinds. Nice atmosphere for sit down, clean and quick.service. We enjoyed their food then and we enjoyed it today. Generous portion, beef on my fried rice was quality unilke most with chewy meat, variety of sauce for pot stickers, egg rolls, crab cake. Decided this will be my carry out restaurant for Chinese.
It's sad HI HO Chopped Gooey I mean Suey was a small Chinese restaurant that I use to deliver the South Bend Tribune to when I was 12 years old. I ate there once years ago. So today my brother brought home Panda Express and it smelled good so I thought I'd get dinner for my mother and I and decided on Hi Ho Chopped Suey. Called ordered the meal and picked it up. Got home and dished it out. I wanted steamed brown rice but they only service fried rice. I should have known by that it would be bad. So I fished it out and gave my mom her plate and sat down with her. We had orange chicken and beef and Broccoli. We both took a bite and and looked at each other. My mom asked me if I had ever eaten there and I said years ago. I asked her the same she said same here. We took a few more bites and looked at each other again and she asked me if I would ever go back and we both said at the same time NO! The orange chicken was terrible. Orange chicken is suppose to taste great. Panda Express did. This tasted like it was sitting there all day, no spices, tough as a piece of leather. The Beef and broccoli tasted like water. No salt or pepper. The egg roll should have been called shoe leather roll. I did not eat all my food and my mom told me to put the rest of hers and the left overs in the garbage. I called the restaurant and told them and they said that the food was fresh and I told her that if the food was fresh then I'm mother Theresa. What a waste of $32 dollars. Do not go there. You can get better food in the dumpster at McDonald's.
I've always loved HI-HOTheir food is delicious & inexpensive
No atmosphere but the soup was really hot and delicious. The serving sizes are large. We ordered the honey chicken special and shrimp egg foo young. They substituted veggie fried rice for the white for $2. The hot tea was free.
My General Tao's Chicken was bland need more spice was told if you want it spicy you have to ask. Will do next time. The egg drop soup was fantastic could have made a meal. So If you want your head to sweat just ask will be back
We had the Hi Ho special & the Hi Ho Chop Suey. Very good. Every bite a little different delightful flavor. Best egg rolls. Amazing
