Had been frequent visitors at our local restaurant but won't be returning to that location again. You see, I have a small seizure alert dog that accompanies me. Never had a problem. Your staff at Ireland Road location always accommodate me without issue. I asked this last time for a glass of water. Server acted horrified that I was going to let dog drink from glass. Now of course not. I carry a small bowl in case this happens.Then your manager insisted he get on floor. Of course, he had jumped up to see if I was coming. He would have had his drink and laid on floor. He's well trained. And he's only 15 pounds.I worked in restaurant business for 40 years. Of course, I know the rules and have always followed them. But am not spending my money at a place that makes a scene over a service dog that alerts me to seizures. I appreciate the food and tip very well. It's a shame...So we tried this other location and was treated very well. But my local Hacienda on Ireland Road won't see me back....
The young woman that was there to seat people seemed irritated that my friend and I did not want to sit at the bar. She then said well the only seating then is upstairs, we were telling her that was fine. She then walked off, helped another guy that came in 4 mins after us.Then someone else came along and helped us. To be clear, this was 1pm on a Monday. There were not many people there. The woman that seated us was awesome. Took our drink orders. The waitress was really sweet too. Food was ok.
We were immediately sat on a Saturday at lunch time. Followed by warm chips and salsa. Chicken Taco salad was good, chicken was juicy and flavorful. My guest got a chimichanga that was perfection. My little guest (2yr old) enjoyed a frozen kids drink, delicious Mac n cheese and warm fries. Nostalgic atmosphere and constantly played old school favorites on the radio. Perfect quick lunch stop.
Customer service mediocre, floors was not swept, I'm stepping on tortilla chip on my way to the washroom. Do better please. Michigan City runs business better than this location.
Friends and family love this place. To me it's simply mediocre. I have yet to get a take out order that wasn't incorrect. This last time all I ordered was 2 orders of chips and salsa and a 32oz ranch for my wife to take to her friend's house. She came out to the vehicle thinking I only ordered one order. Nope, they failed to put in the second order. Luckily we hadn't left yet.
Went there today for Lunch. They were clearly understaffed which I completely understand. However, It was Absolutely FREEZING IN THERE. I couldn't even eat. I got a box and came home to eat. Who wants to sit in a Cold Restaurant...Not Me
Excellent service and great food. The atmosphere is quaint and enjoyable. It tends to be a little loud but that is to be expected by the layout of the restaurant. It is one of my favorite places to eat when I come back and visit family.
Although the food isn’t authentic “Mexican” cuisine, it’s still pretty good and their frozen margaritas are phenomenal.There was a kitchen staff shortage last evening and we were put on a waitlist. We only waited 20 out of the 30 minutes we were quoted. We were attended to immediately once seated.I was impressed that our order came as quickly as it did. (Especially considering they only had one cook.) Kudos to the employees for pulling it together and making the best of the situation.
Took over an hour and a half to get food. Little paper cups sour cream was in must've sat prior because they tore as you tried to get sour cream out. The ice always taste awful. Waitress was not very friendly, like she was half asleep. Normally the food and service are great.
I love this hacienda location, but the hostesses normally aren’t friendly. If you ask to sit at the bar side of the restaurant, they roll their eyes and scoff, and this has happened on several different occasions. But the servers are great and the food and drinks are good. I’m not usually satisfied with my carry out experience.
