Stopped here 06/10/22 @ 12:37. Google says open. Posted hours on door indicates it's open. Big sign on wheels out front says dining room open.3 cars in parking lot. Doors locked. Nobody answering the phones.These idiots deserve to go out of business.
You basically go up to the counter and order your food on a screen, have a seat and wait for them to call your number. That's fine, if they could get the order right. The food we got was fine, it just wasn't really what we ordered.
Tried the fish sandwich but the tarter sauce has no zip or punch....very bland ....as a result not so good...but love the brioche bun. The gentleman who took my order was very nice.
I do realize it closed for a while, and most likely is under new management with changes being made in part from a corporate initiative to adjust to the pandemic's aftereffects. However it's no longer what I look for in a sit-down experience. No real table service anymore, have to order dine in meals through a kiosk which now features a smaller menu which is ok, I suppose- but most staff seems miserable and unfriendly despite my attempts to be friendly and understanding. One lady was nice, but I got served looks by the others for asking for things they didn't have stocked that I would have been able to get myself otherwise. Only a few people working; all available tables were unclean, self serve drink station wasn't very well stocked, thus having to ask for things like napkins. I don't entirely blame staff since there weren't a lot of people to do everything, and I imagine we missed initial dinner rush that contributed to the issues. Unfortunately, it's hardly worth the visit if you want that classic diner experience one would expect from a Steak and Shake.
Stopped by food took about 15 minutes.. I didn’t mind though because the young lady(I assume the manager) was great! I got my fries and they were actually “fresh”. Being that they were short staffed(only 2) it was refreshing that I didn’t have to ask.
This is an awful place to eat. All dine in tables were not cleaned or sanitized. When ask to have mine cleaned was ignored. Dining area was filled with the smell of backed up sewage coming from bathrooms. Awful, nasty and plain dirty dining experience. I ended up throwing my food away and leaving.
I have come here 4 times since they reopened. All 3 times I have ordered online over 20 minutes before arriving. Once I arrived I went inside to grab my order. Each time the people behind the counter see me standing there but avoid eye contact with me and don’t ask what I’m waiting for. Each time after waiting 15-20 minutes trying to get their attention, the (I’m assuming) manager comes out and yells at them for not waiting on me and the manager grabs my order and hands me my (cold) food.Today was the final straw. I ordered 30 minutes before I arrived. I arrived at 10:49am and since no one was in the drive through I tried that thinking it would be quicker. After getting no answer I drove around and walked to the front doors. They were both locked and when I looked inside I didn’t see anyone. I tried calling their number and no answer. Several other people showed up during this time that also submitted online orders. This Steak ‘n Shake took all our money while they apparently weren’t even open (even though it was during published business hours) I don’t normally want to see a business fail, but I have to suggest everyone stops going to this particular Steak ‘n Shake so that it will close down. Absolutely ridiculous example of how to run a business.
It was incredibly slow which could have been a staffing problem but there were chunks in the vanilla shake that definitely left a spoiled milk taste in my mouth. Also, I thought they accidentally put bacon on my sandwich so I turned on the dome light to find it was just a nice charred crispy coating on the bottom of my burger. My son ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with only ketchup and he didn't get bacon. It was not a pleasant experience.
My shake was good, they got my gf's wrong. Apparently the drive thru was broke so we had to go inside to order. It wasn't that busy but they tried to give us our food on a tray, it was to-go obviously since we tried to go through the drive-thru. Overall good but just a lil frustrating
Was hoping since they reopened would be better. No...it actually got much worse.
