It's good I will go back. I ordered a daily special 22oz bone in ribeye steak with baked potato. I request medium rare steak, it came to the table medium but still very tasty. The baked potato came uncut with a side of sour cream. The tables are stocked with butter salt & pepper and that was all I needed to dress my potato. The real star was the appetizer, the black bean soup was on point. I had one domestic bottle beer and my bill was $40.44
My brother, dad and I (the french, german and swiss team :) ) went to eat there and it was an absolutely extraordinary experience. Kathy, who took care of our orders, was an absolute gem and made this evening an experience we will never forget. They were so so friendly and happy to teach us so much about the local beers, desserts and really, i haven‘t often had such friendly and convivial service. I should also mention the food, that was just as incredible as the rest. I keep very fond memories of the bbq ribs I ordered. To us this place represents the best of America and we often remember our dinner there very fondly! If we ever make it back to the Midwest, we‘ll definitely try to go back to this wonderful restaurant that has such an interesting history, as well as incredible working there :)
First time here since COVID-19 started. The staff is so polite. The food was excellent. I had one of their daily specials. It was the Blackened Mahi Mahi. It was done to perfection. It came with a salad vegetable and baked potato. Definitely will be back
Ordered Prime Rib ,medium rare. It was tough, disappointing. Like a rubber chew toy tough. Shrimp chowder was tasty. Heard so many good things about this place for yrs. We finally go and probably won't be back . Oh well. ?
Menu listed perch. Ordered perch. Didnt look like perch. Asked waitress and she agreed said everyone was complaining. Spoke with manager and she said they don’t have perch it’s pike. Why do they have it listed on menu as perch. Manager was very rude. Never will go there again.
On the way home from a business and out of nowhere, it starts snowing. GGRRR!! Enough was enough and roads/fellow drivers were starting to get sloppy. I decided to pull off for the night, get a hotel room and grab dinner. Using TripAdvisor, I found the Galveston Steakhouse. The setup is old fashioned western. I ordered their NY strip, baked sweet potatoes and assorted veggies. The steak was prepared wonderfully. I was very impressed. For dessert, I had the carrot cake. Although no baked in house, the carrot cake was very good. Nice and moist. The frosting not too sweet. My server was kind and efficient. All and all, I was really impressed here. It was also a wonderful value. It's a good find.
We had an amazing dinner tonight. Dawn was our waitress and made our experience fun and perfect. Thank you for the birthday dessert, amazing food and service. We will be back!
Galveston steakhouse is our special place where we go to celebrate our major life events. The food is fantastic, the service is top notch, and the atmosphere joyful. We're so happy to have a quality restaurant like Galveston in our area.
