Wow! What a hidden gem. This is the real deal! I've been hoping that a Filipino food spot would make its way into NWI. I can't believe I never heard about this place. The food was authentic and so flavorful. Tried the Pancit, Lumpia, and a dessert. Took me back to my childhood and the food a dear friends mom used to make. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I'll definitely be back. Try it out and tell your friends!!!
We happened upon this thanks to Google. It was our first time having this type of food. It was delicious and the owner was super friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to talk to. We will be back to try the buffet!
Great food and even greater owners, they were very friendly and made us feel at home for dinner. If you're like me, who isn't familiar with Filipino food, the buffet on Sundays is perfect for trying new foods that you won't find anywhere else in Merrillville.

Amazing food and a very professional outgoing staff. The staff were filled with knowledge when asking about the dishes served. I honestly can’t say I have a favorite dish because they are all delicious.

Tried it for the first time today, everything was delicious! The owner was super nice and took time to help me navigate the food since it was my first experience with Filipino food. Even my picky 7 year old enjoyed it, will definitely come back again.
Filipino food here is sure to fill you up. They never miss with the flavors and it’ll fulfill your craving for food back home. The store owner is very polite it seems that she’s always running around because they’re understaffed but the service is great. The lumpia is to die for very crispy and the tapsilog i obviously devoured lol. Thank you for the great meal Tropical Islands Cuisine!
two days ago was our first time we went to this fine restaurant. But It is obviously not the last time. We had a good time with the attentive service, with the finest food and wine and with the modest charge. We will absolutely go back there soon.
