Failed to serve order with peppers and au jus. Also gave room temp S.Pellegrino mineral water without cup/ice. Once you are given sandwiches you shouldn't have to return to counter for items to eat with sandwich, etc. Otherwise, food was & ALWAYS is awesome!
Every time I go there’s an issue with my order, I ordered a chopped chicken salad got home there was no chicken in it. Today I ordered a chopped chicken salad with double chicken and no tomatoes, I receive the salad with a small amount of chicken and tomatoes. The top of the salad lid looks like someone has been eating out of it, at this point I give up and won’t be returning.
Without a doubt Portillos hotdogs is one of the best restaurants in Chicagoland area in this one did not disappoint. Located in Merrillville Indiana right off East 81st avenue and ready to take your order. Get your milk shakes, ?, Italian beefs, hot dogs ?, and most of all the burgers ?! Could’ve watched an episode of a mini series while waiting for two hot dogs. No hot dog meal. No drink. Just two hot dogs. I mean still tasted good but not worth the wait. Just go to the grocery store and grill one yourself. It’ll be faster.
Just driving to Chicago from Lexington, Ky and I was looking for a more local new place to try and this is where we landed. As we pulled up there was a wrap around line at the drive thru and I took that as a good sign. We got inside and the inside line was considerably shorter than the drive thru. The menu was reasonably diverse with a few interesting items but I settled on the burger combo and kept it simple. The inside of this place is very interesting as you can see from the pictures. The store won some type of award for the area of being one of the best places to dine in 2021 and I can see why. The place is also a great size and can clearly cater to large groups. Overall the food was pretty good 4/5 but when you factor in all of the rest I feel it deserves the upgrade to a 5. Ambience 5/5 Menu 5/5 Price 5/5 and Service 4/5.
It’s terrible. Ordered ahead said 15 minutes, we knew better but they’re the ones who told us a time. it’s been 45 min and still waiting. Watched people order after we arrived get our food and leave. Management, attitude, it was all terrible will not be back or recommend to anyone. The amount of people waiting for their food is ridiculous.
Terrible service. It’s been getting worst and worst every time. 25 minute wait for an Italian beef sandwich and a sprite. Asked to get my money back and it seemed to be a big inconvenience but yet my sandwich was still Not made. Unorganized staff. Everyone’s orders were all messed up. Some people were waiting over 35 minutes. And some people got skipped ahead. Portillos you have lost a customer.

You can smell portillos before you walk in. Alot of food to choose from. I got the burgers? so did 2 more of my kids and my son got the hot dog ?and my other daughter got the chicken tenders. The wait was long but man was it worth it. After that first bite you won't regret it. My burger had that good char on it made the flavor just pop out more the lettuce was fresh the tomato didn't make my burger bun soggy. It's definitely a great spot we will be back again.
For a great Italian Beef sandwich, or an authentic Chicago hot dog, you can’t beat Portillos. It’s casual, fun, and delicious.
