Not the best experience. Waited in the drive thru about 25mins.Ordered spicy chicken family dinner, but got original and it was cold. Biscuits were like a hockey puck, French fries were cold and soggy. Mashed potatoes and gravy were hot and good. The outside of the restaurant needs to be cleaned up its in pretty sad shape. The lady and the window was very nice at least.
I went about 7pm and of course the line was halfway around the building. After about 30 minutes (or more even) I finally got to order. They had no spicy chicken (WHAT) and I found out when I got all the way home....there were ABSOLUTELY NO SIDES! I tried to call but everyone knows they always have the phone off the hook. Duh...of course they do. I drove back and pulled right up to the window and told the same cashier "ummmmm you forgot all my sides and biscuits" he looked at me, and through his laughter he said "I sure did". He said he would put some extra things in the bag for my troubles. Like, who goes to Popeyes and gets no sides and biscuits?? Oh, by the way, my "extra" items for my troubles was 1 chocolate chip cookie. Go ahead, you can laugh.....I know I did.
This was my first time going to this Popeyes last night. I waited in the drive through for about 40 minutes maybe more, just to be told to wait an additional 20 minutes once I drove up to order. I wasn’t greeted when I drove to the window and still had had to wait. I’m glad they took forever to take my payment because I noticed in the back that none of the workers had on gloves. Then one of the young ladies that was working on food walks outside from the back to speak to a customer in her car for a few minutes, then came back inside without washing her hands and went straight to picking up tongues to put chicken in a customers box. I drove off.
Drive thru wait was ridiculous. They were taking one order at a time. You ordered, you pulled around - when that car was done, they took the next order. Customer service is horrible, there is no conversation , no kindness expressed. The outside of the property is falling apart, not clean looking. But because the store locations are scarce and far between customers will come. But not me, there will be a location opening soon nearer to me.
I am all about safety but the owner of this Popeyes is milking the pandemic to abuse the workers, run short staffed and mandate drive through only. Prices have skyrocketed and for certain you should expect to spend 30 minutes or more in line. In fact, there is no way of knowing if they are meeting sanitation requirements or food safety standards. I wonder if Merrillville's Inspectors ever pop up unannounced to make sure we are safe.
This place was slow pre-pandemic. Now it's worse. The sign says dining room open but the door is always locked. It's not open for just carryout. Which means the drive thru line is wrapped around the building. And I don't know if bad customer service is in the corporate handbook, but every Popeye's in the area has horrible service.
This review doesn't deserve a 1 star but that is the lowest option available. Their outdoor speaker system is broken and there is no menu available. All orders are taken at the window and you should know what you want to order because if not you will be berated and told that there is 0 time to answer questions because "there is a line wrapped around the building and our speaker system is broken right now." So, clearly I'm not a customer who just waited OVER 20 minutes in a drive thru line as well as every other person in the same drive thru line. Worst customer service that I've experienced in a long time and the female at the window had an obvious attitude problem. I would avoid this drive thru.
Missing chicken. Ordered the 9 piece special with 2 sides and 4 biscuits. Got 7 pieces of chicken. I called 4 different times last nite and no one would pick up. I do have me receipt and will call again today. The 2 guys working on Sat, 2/19/22, tried to talk the talk, and be smooth to customers, but in reality, they cant count and understand what is in an order. I have them receipt and its even states how pieces of each chicken should be in the order...smh....i am really starting to wonder about Popeye's and how they hire employees. Merrillville and Schererville Indiana employees are not rated high, for hiring...smh
Ordered a 16 piece box & a large mash potato & gravy. Asked the employee when he brought the order out if everything bag & he said YES. Get home & find there’s only 12 pieces of chicken & NO potatoes & gravy. I live in Hobart, about 25?min away, so no going back. Can’t wait for the Portage store to open; hopefully they’ll be better or it’s back to KFC!
This is the worst Popeyes ever! Didn’t get all my order tried calling the store and it just rings and rings. Then they turn off the phone. Weeny back after my work shift was over bc I didn’t have time right away wasn’t rude or anything and the B**** assistant manager Sharon is cursing me out and being so rude threatening me. The worst service ever. Never will I go back to this location as this isn’t the first time I’ve had issues. But to threaten someone when you were in the wrong is not how you treat customers. Close the place down for real
