My wife and I recently moved back to Merrillville Ind and before she left she loved their lemon rice soup, well she recently sent me to get her favorite soup(lemon rice soup) well she was very disappointed because it didn't taste the same as it was before we left a year ago she after a few bites she threw it away because she said it was to nasty for her to eat. Now I personally have a problem with this restaurant my wife wanted extra crackers, and you would think their crackers were made of gold you would think that seeing how that it's soup that you would get asm much crackers as you need without being charged extra but, not the case so in the future if and that's a big if she goes back maybe I need to keep a couple of the packages of 2 crackers in case their value goes up and maybe I can become a rich man
Chicken stir fry and the stir fry was not cooked all the way the vegetables were raw your wife had beef stir fry and it was cooked all the way either. And the bill was almost $50 for two main courses and two teas
I have had many delicious breakfasts at Maxim's. The meals are tasty, especially the Greek porkchops. The portions are big and a great value for the price. The service is good, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable.
We've only had breakfast here, for years, the food is amazing and large portions. The service is great, even when they are really busy, they try to make sure that you're satisfied and have everything you need.For breakfast ,you can't beat the price.3 eggs, hash brown's 3 sausage and 3 bacon, and toast, all for 5 dollars, totally worth, at least, trying it.BEST BREAKFAST PLACE AROUND
Good food, just wish we weren't forced to get soup with certain meals. I want a salad not soup, but you have to have soup. That's bs!! The owner is a big you know what, but the servers and food make up for his lack of friendliness.
Great experience! The whole staff is so lovely and welcoming. Our server was so patient and helpful. My kids loved the Mickey pancakes. I am on vacation here but I will be coming back before I leave!
If I could give zero stars I would.. I have been going to Maxims for years and today February 27th 2022 @ 1:30pm I went into Maxims to pick up my to go order and as I was letting the man at the counter know what I was there for I was rudely interrupted and told there was someone else ahead of me until it was my turn and the man let another customer go ahead of me I told him that he should have told the gentleman to wait and he preceded to argue with me and threw my card on the counter and told me to not return great job maxims you have lost a faithful customer.
The server was really sweet, she tried her beast to make it a pleasant dining experience, however the food is not good. I had a gyro it had like extra butter on the pita, the veggies were all old. The leom rice soup is watery and has chunks of egg floating arround. The burger meat tastes old. The ranch sauce taste like aldis bottle ranch not homemade like most diners. The French forest tasted like they were cooked innthe ae oil as maybe donuts or something sweet. The cups looked really dirty.
Ordered tonight for the first time from Maxims and it was absolutely delicious. I had the turkey and dressing which came with salad or soup, bread and cranberry sauce. The portion size was very large and the flavor was so good. My husband had the maxims deluxe croissant with fries and it was very good as well. We added stuffed mushrooms to try something else from the menu and they were amazing. The order was packaged very well, everyone we dealt with was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely order again and dine in as well. I highly recommend.
It's one of the better lemon rice soup's in the area. Good fried chicken even you have to wait 20-25 mins but worth it. Friendly/clean service.
