Friendly checkout. Good fresh food.Only thing they could improve on is turning down the volume where you can hear each other.
We ate w/ other family members. Not our personal choice, but I liked my BLT&A (avacado). I personally think McAlister's is VERY pricey for just a sandwich & chips & drink! We sat outside and enjoyed the lovely day and family.
After McAlisters first opened our initial visit had a "blip" when they served us a regular bun for gluten free bread which my husband caught after eating a couple of bites. They made good with 2 free dinners & consecutive visits proved to make us very happy with the restaurant. Last week, however, they messed up my order with a sandwich instead of a wrap & had no fruit which my husband paid an extra dollar for. I didn't say anything because we were in a hurry. Tonight, however, the soda machine was on the fritz. When we placed our ordered the cashier never told us & our drinks were TOTALLY FLAT. My husband complained & they produced a 2-litre bottle of diet coke (I had ordered root beer) to refill our flat drinks. When our sandwiches came, wait staff informed us that they were out of fruit (AGAIN!) that we paid an extra dollar for. As my husband needs to be gluten free, the only thing he could substitute was potato chips which normally come with the dinner. This avoided another trip to the cashier. The order was already paid for so we lost another dollar .The capper was, I ordered soup & got no spoon. The wait staff said he would bring one & my husband had to chase him down 5 minutes later for it. I'm sure it wasn't a bad night considering it was a Thursday. & the place was empty. Not sure we'll go back. Too.bad because we love the food but not the service.
The highest of fives to Joe and the young lady working with him tonight! They were the best. My friends and I were there for a total of 4.5 hours! When Joe brought our food out, one friend asked what time the restaurant closed. Joe said 8, she said we'd be out at 9. He was super hospitable! Made us comfortable. Even laughed with us. Thanks again Joe and the young lady working with him. It was a pleasure.
Waitress inadvertently had taken food off my table as I went to bathroom, the management made an entirely new meal to make it up. Great service!
Dont go here. They over charge on purpose. First time I went there they charged us 40 bucks for 2 sandwiches and 2 sodas. They were too busy for me to try to ask why it was so much. Went in again today and looked carefully at the menu prices. Order a half potatoe($5) cup of soup($4) and my wife ordered a salad ($10) they said "that'll be $37.40" we just walked out. I'll never go back.
I am pretty happy that McAlister's opened in Marion since we go to others farther away when we travel. We've been there a few times since they opened and haven't had a bad experience. The place is new so everything is clean and nice. They don't have their tumblers for sale at this location (at this time at least) but they honored the discounted refill price when we brought ours in which was great - definitely makes getting their "famous" tea easier on the pocketbook. Unlike the other McAlister's we sometimes go to, this has a self-serve ice tea station which I like since I like just a splash of sweet tea in my unsweet tea... They definitely have good iced tea.In any case, the food was good as expected. As a salad/sandwich shop they have a nice selection, and we sometimes get their baked potatoes which is one of the best values on their menu. It's nice to have this eating option in Marion and while some may not consider this "fast food" this is how I classify McAlister's, so for this category, we've had only 5 star visits so far and expect that to continue. If you haven't been there yet, it's time to go. I also suggest you use their rewards program/app if you live nearby.
Not a good experience this trip. Main reason for going to this restaurant was for a baked Potato, after ordering and sitting down waiting about 5 minutes for our food, we were informed they were out of potatoes for the evening. This was at 730 pm. Maybe next visit will be better, in a few weeks.
Food is very good in taste has not disappointed yet, a few things every time I use their spoons they are awkward deep and the ridge on them are very sharp so much so I actually got a small cut on my lip, the sandwiches are good but when you order them to go they are smashed together pretty good usually causing a bit of a mess when opened. Those are really my only negatives other wise the food quality is great, the time to receive food either as a walk in or pre order is not bad. I would recommend you visit this place if you are in the food for some good deli along with a variety of other items.
I have ordered online from here before, but this time I finally went inside!! Christmas decorations are awesome, but I also was so impressed with how clean, sharp, and yet welcoming everything felt in the restaurant! Service was fantastic!! Food was delicious (I had the turkey jalepeño crunch sandwich!)!! Great indoor seating and I am excited for when it gets warmer since they have a great looking outdoor seating area too. Easy 5 stars on this one.
