First time going here. I can see us going back in the near future. Good food and friendly staff.
The servings were good sized. The flavors were delish I would eat here again. I think I have a new favorite Mexican food restaurant.
The food at taco rico is great. The portions are more than enough! I have yet to experience bad food or bad service. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming and I will continue to spend my money with them, short of any mishaps.
I have gone here a few times for lunch. While I’d say the food is generally mediocre to slightly above, it comes out fairly quickly and does the job. I was always slightly put off by the service. Nobody is there to greet you as you awkwardly look for an empty table to sit at. The servers that eventually come by are not mean or rude by any means, but they do come off as standoffish.With my last visit, the only table available was one where two were conjoined. I sat down, and I told my waiter that I felt bad sitting here by myself. He seemed ambivalent whether I sat there or moved to the bar area. I did the latter so someone else could have this large table. At the bar, I ordered water which my waiter seemed surprised by. Maybe because I didn’t order for a paid drink. I give him my order for steak quesadillas. The food came out quick like my past experiences, but it just cheese and no steak. I tell my waiter, but he insisted that I said cheese and not steak almost arguing with me. He takes it back, and the cooks haphazardly open each slice of the quesadilla to place bits of steak in between the tortilla shells. My food is brought back to me, and I realize how pathetic and small this serving was. It took me about 3 minutes to eat the whole thing. He probably gave me a children’s meal which is more evident by the bill ringing up to be about $8 instead of $10.99 like it’s listed on the restaurant’s website. I left disappointed and unsatisfied without a “thank you” or “goodbye”. Because of this and previous subpar experiences, I will not be coming back here.If you are going to eat here, 1) I suggest you find another local place for Mexican food, or 2) if you do, get takeout so you don’t have to deal with the second-rate service. Showing even just a little personality with your customers can go a long way.
Food is good I can't complain. I love the taco combos and micheladas. Depending on the day maybe a shrimp tostada or a menudo. The food is not bad at all. We keep going there for a reason. What I would like to address is the customer service. My friends and family have been going there for years. We go there too often. It is a very centralized location. It really upsets me when you ask for something and right away the waitress catches an attitude. We obviously want to be treated kindly. Hospitality goes a long way. Maricela was great and I really miss her being there. She always had a smile for us and gave great customer service. I have not seen her or talked to her since she stopped working there. We just want to eat and have a good time with our friends and family. The goal is not to upset anyone. I hope the servers there read this and honestly if you don't want to walk to our table and give us good customer service pass the table to someone else. Or if we are too much to handle please allow us to pick up our own orders at the front counter.
Authentic Mexican food. Tastes and not over spicy in mild option. I tried a rice meal but my friend tried tacos. Both were great. They also had a drink of rice which I forgot the name but it was great.
2 stars . Meat wasn’t cooked fresh and that makes all the difference. Other items were ok .Chips and salsa was ok .
Best Mexican food in Lafayette so far. Fajita burrito was big and delicious and actually smothered in cheese. Salsa for chips was delicious. Only down side to place is there not alot of seating. So if you go during a busy time could be long wait. Way better than any of chain restaurants.

Food is great and authentic. Prices are good as well. However, the service is pretty poor and the servers act like they are doing you a favor.
