We have quite a few drive up restaurants here in Lafayette. My favorite, by far, is Sonic. The chili cheese dogs are wonderful ?! And, their drink selection is huge! Most importantly, you get a good value for your money. The people who take the orders are all friendly and professional. Your order comes quickly, too. On a hot summer day it's hard to beat their lime slush!
The food is good most of the time. Had a bad experience with ordering online. It took the money out of our account three times for the order I tried to place, although the app said declined payment. We called the store, they couldn't do anything to help us. We emeded up getting the money back but never got our meal that night from sonic since they hadn't received our order through the app they said.
Well first of all, I am just going through back home in Minnesota from Ohio & got super hungry. Never had sonic ever in my life so hey let’s try it. Never been there, we got confused at the drive up things you go to & push a button to make your order. We had a problem as it wasn’t accepting both cards so luckily we had cash so the lady didn’t have to take out card & go in. She said we weren’t the only having that problem. But boy as we pulled away & parked & dug out our food… we started drooling. It was so delicious!!! I will be finding another sonic closer to home when possible.
My personal opinion is Sonic has great food. Love the onion rings and I'm still giving them 5 stars an a good review. However, today we ordered through their app to have it ready when we got there. As I commonly do, I order the onion rings to go with my cheeseburger. We placed our order, got there, pressed the code button to let them know what slot we were in and 2 minutes later our food was brought out. However, no onion rings because they were out. This isn't about food shortages, supply chains or employees or employment. It's the fact that nothing on the app notified us they were out, no text messages ,nothing. The girl simply handed us a sack and our drinks and was going to let us go. Thanks to McDonald's, my wife dove in the sack to check the order an noticed no onion rings, told the girl, and she went in to get them. The manager came out and told us they didn't have any and could refund us the price or substitute something else. I said fries. It took 5 minutes to get them and the were almost cold and while not positive, gave us at an even trade even though the ff were $0.80 less. There should be some way through the app to notify us of this kind of situation so we can adjust our order before we get there. I may not use the app again. All places have issues occasionally and we will definitely eat at Sonic again as after 50 some visits, this is the first issue we've had and it actually is all about the app. It needs a major update.
Really good drive in with a ton of great options food and drink-wise. I had boneless chicken wings and a shake, both of which were exquisite. The only problem I had was how long it took to get service. But the wait was well worth it!
Affordable and super good! One of the few American fast food chains that I think is not overrated
It's awesome as a drive up to see the ladies on skates that deliver your orders! A super fun place to go for a quick bite to eat or a delicious slushie.
Foot long chilly dogs got me going. I always love Sonic can't really say anything bad.
Went at happy hour (2-4) so they were very busy. As always we got fast friendly fresh service. I personally always pull in a slot instead of drive thru. Sometimes seems faster this way.
Sat in the drive thru for at least 20 minutes. Ordered the Buffalo BBQ popcorn chicken and received Honey BBQ popcorn chicken. Stopped at a gas station down the road to eat but it was so old that I broke a plastic fork in it and threw it in the trash after that. I basically paid $10 for some tator tots and a Dr. Pepper half full of ice. Went to the McDonald's down the road and got better food there. This place is pathetic.
