We were staying in the area for a month. We actually visited this place three times in the month. We know a bit of overkill. We kept trying different items on the menu. We had the frozen custard of course. We also tried their Old Fashioned Soda offering as well. It was amazing. We had their large tenderloin (not as large as advertised), nachos, corn dog and chili dog. Some of what we tried was great. Others easily 4 star worthy. The only thing we felt was pretty average was the chili sauce. Easily give this place 4 stars for their food and custard offerings. Service was another story. They hurry you at the ordering window, They mess your orders up probably at the window. In fairness it seems to be kids running the place but they need to do their job correctly. We would downgrade them on their service. Only meriting 2 stars. The outdoor dining area is nice. It is not kept clean and they do not keep the trash containers emptied. WE would give them three stars for the atmosphere due to those points. Other areas of note: Romantic Appeal 4 stars (nice stop to treat your date) Renown 3 stars Value 4 stars All of that factors to a 3.3 star rating. If they get their service fixed they could easily get rounded to a 4 star destination in our books but for us they are a solid 3 star stop. Do not be afraid to come here. The Old Fashioned Soda espeically was the best one we had ever had.
I love the blue moon ice cream from here. It's just the right hint of mint mixed in with the vanilla. Pair it with a waffle cone and tiger's blood coke, and you have a perfect afternoon
It was pretty good I was able to try a new flavor I never tried before the staff was nice the service was fast next time I visit that town I would definitely be turned for more
At the bottom of my 3 scoops Blue Moon custard ice cream was 3 pieces of dark chocolate slivers. This was a bitter surprise.
The Frozen Custard is one of my favorite restaurants to visit when I'm in Lafayette. A vanilla cone and their famous fruit drink is my go-to order and they are both delicious and cannot be found anywhere outside of Lafayette. And, they bring back fond memories of my childhood in Lafayette.
Only got one start bc there wasn’t an option for no stars. Waited in line for half an hour just to be told there kitchen was closed which meant all they were making were drinks and icecream… not okay…
Today I had the worse experience at this store ever!!!!!! We bought 4 deserts, 2 Large Turtles, and 1 Big banana Split, 1 Large Strawberry Sundae. After dinner with our guest we had desert. We notice the deserts were overwhelmed with peacans. I mean way to many. And we get the Turtles all the time and the Big banana split should only have some sprinkled on top. So I called because we ended up not finishing them. The manager Taylor argued with me first about it and was rude and kept trying to twist my words, finally she said come get your money or we can remake them. So I said I will come get refund back. I get there and there's a guy at window apparently Taylors boyfriend. I talk to Taylor about getting refund back and the boyfriend jumps in and starts telling me it's just ice cream lady and another girl behind window that didn't want to give me her name starts yelling at me. Then the boyfriend starts telling a family that just walked up that I am there complaining about ice cream so it's gonna take awhile. They just walked off. I felt ganged up on. The one with no name just would not stop yelling at me. Finally I asked for managers name and they wouldn't tell me. Said don't give out!!! This was a horrible experience. Taylor finally did void my order and gave me receipt that said voided. The boyfriend and both Taylor was making rude remarks when I left. I might just go picket this store!!! They deserve it. Apparently they are not sorry for mistakes and never once said sorry. Very rude staff and boyfriend!!!
Great food and ice cream (especially the fruit drink!) staff is always super friendly and helpful
