We waited for 10 minutes with no one to check us in. We had to walk in, almost to the buffet, for someone to notice us and the employee that came over was extremely rude. It was as if we bothered/interrupted their chat and we were at fault. There was no greeting or small talk, just rung us up for $30 and said “enjoy,” then walked away. We found a seat and waited another 10 minutes to get 2 silverware sets or something to drink (never got a refill). Rest of staff friendly.The FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. Everything was over cooked, cold and old. There was no turnover or replacement. The steak was served raw. Tried almost everything in there and was very disappointed. Even the dessert was unpleasant. Couldn’t wait to get home and eat leftovers. NOT WORTH $15/person and won’t be returning. Better off at ANY OTHER buffet in the area.
Gotta say I do like coming here. So for once I wanted to do there lunch. Got there OF COURSE at the tail end of it but lucky me I did get fresh dinner option. Anyhow!! I was able to get a few items the cheeseburger slider which was a score since I love there rolls that was the bun !! Got some fresh onions rings and potatoes wedges. So now I am definitely gonna go when lunch starts because what I did try was pretty good !!!! BUT !!!! on a SERIOUS note what do you have to do to be able to get some CHICKEN STRIPS ??? I mean cmon those got with EVERY MEAL !!! I'm telling u I'm about to start a petition about this ?
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I've never been so disappointed in a restaurant/buffet in my life. The food was dry flavorless and overcooked. The desert bar was a mess especially the ice cream machine. This once prominent establishment has fallen hard over the years. When I was at the Merrillville location back in 2017 everything was on point. Great food good service. People working the grill. Whoever is running this franchise needs to step it up in regards to food service. The customer service side of things was good. The servers were nice. The actual food and the state of the desert bar was absolutely horrible. No way I'd ever eat here again.
Food was good. The inside of restaurant needs a huge upgrade as its run down/dingyThe restrooms were a nightmare, the women's was the worst I've seen. It looked like a truck stop as the toilets were filled with tp and feces; there was also pee on the ground/seats and the soap dispenser was barely hanging on the wall. The men's room was also gross but not as bad as the women's. Also, on a side note, the waitress we had was awesome.
Haven't eaten at a golden corral in years so I decided to try it and as soon as we got there the girl had a disgusted look on her face and wasn't very happy to ring us up. The food wasn't good at all. The pizza was burnt, spaghetti sauce was so watered-down, steak was that even steak?! The only thing that looked good and that I was excited about was bread pudding but it had a metal shaving in it. I just got up and left.
Terrible service. Waitress was hanging out chatting with people. No silverware for a while. Then asked for a refill she stopped and chatted with two more people. Didn’t find any food that was fresh or hot. My last trip there. Went to one in Indy not long ago. Fantastic
Would give more stars if i could because the manager lady is super professional. She interacts so beautifully with customers and staff... The steak was also excellent. Very pleasant experience and i still love golden corral.
I understand that food cost are rising and even some things are scarce; but I go to a place like this for a buffet of items. There were shortages on most things and workers not restocking others. I was told ice cream machine was broken. No rolls pretty much the entire time there. There were too many people still eating to be cooking one tiny steak. This place will never get my money or business again. I suggest you do the same and find somewhere else. On a side note the waitress bugged me like a dozen times working extra hard for a tip, so there is that.
I had to wait 3 years to come back here to eat some of that wonderful bacon that just crumbles in my mouth. I just love their breakfast buffet. They serve it until 11 a.m. on Saturdays.
food was good, must of just missed the rush, didn't have many clean tables.
