The portions were very small, my wife’s salad was not a salad. It was lettuce laid flat on a plate and drizzled with dressing and sprinkled with cheese. My dinner was good, but for a $22 dish I expect it to not fit in one hand. $140 for 3 people and we had to stop and eat Culver’s on the way home. Cool place and very cool atmosphere. But not worth the price to walk away hungry and broke.
Food was delicious, but overpriced for portion. $42 for three normal sized scallops was too much money. Only received 5 normal sized shrimp in shrimp cocktail.
Great food and service! We had the onion loaf served in its own basket. Only a very light dusting of "breading." So delicious we couldn't stop eating them until they were gone! We also had the calamari, which has a sweet and spicy coating. Delicious! The wedge salad was great. We didn't have the Bleu cheese dressing, though. We went with the vinaigrette, instead. Of course, the Bone-In Ribeye was absolutely fantastic! We couldn't even THINK about dessert! What a meal!
We’ve attempted to dine at Marble Steakhouse twice now. The first time we went, there was a sign on the door saying they are closed due to staffing issues. The second time was Mother’s Day. Our daughter called the week before to see if they are taking any reservations and was told no, they open at 11:o’clock and it’s first come first serve only. We showed up before 11 and stood in line only to be told they are fully booked! Apparently the owner took reservations and did not informed his staff. This is very POOR business practice. Marble Steakhouse owner, this is how your business will quickly go down if you keep making bad management decisions!A lot of people in line were frustrated and said this is not the first time this happened. I did not want to give them a star but I had to in order to rate and review. Very disappointing!
I went here on Tuesday while in Indiana for work. I ordered the porterhouse medium with mash potato side the food came out at a decent time. But my steak was cooked medium well on one half and medium rare on the other halfIt wasn’t cooked evenly. The mash potatoes were good! But I was pretty disappointed by the steak by how it was cooked and It had no flavor.
Too bad I couldn't give it a zero star rating. My wife and I went there on a Sunday right after they opened (4 PM). No reservations. We were advised that there were no tables available (the place was empty) and that we would have to sit at the bar. Note: When we left after our dinner there were still empty tables. Guess we didn't rate having a table. Funny our money is green also. The bartender was very slow and must have been new. She had a personality of a drink coaster. We ordered our drinks (water and ice tea) and rather than take our order at the time she said she would be back with our drinks. I guess she had to run outside to the creek/river to get the water and boil the tea because it took close to 15 minutes. She finally took our order. Wife ordered her steak medium well and mine medium. When they finally came out hers was medium rare and mine was rare. She sent hers back and when it came back it was only medium. I elected not to send mine back (yeah I know what they do to the food when you send it back.) She ordered the mashed potatoes and after her first bite she gave me such an odd look. She passed them to me and I swear they were not real mashed potatoes but instant ones. The bartender gave us 15% off of our bill but it could have been free...it wasn't worth it. The service and the overall experience sucked. Will never go back there again. I'll take my chances with a large chain steak house instead.
We were pleased with the good service – our server was personable, helpful and there when we needed her. Our entrees were excellent, between the four of us we had the lamb chops, grouper and Delmonico. The Delmonico was nicely seasoned and cooked a perfect medium rare. It was juicy and tender. The grouper was cooked perfectly, moist and firm and flavorful. The lamb was succulent and flavorful, perfectly cooked to medium rare as requested. The only problem with the lamb was the mustard sauce was overpowering, but that was easily rectified by scraping it off. Now, for the less favorable things. The calamari was was just so so. The crispiness did not come through, thanks to the mediocre peanut sauce applied on top. I will not order it again. The other appetizer we shared was the truffle oil fries; they were not bad, could have been crisper. Neither appetizer was hot enough. It's like they were sitting under an under-powered heat lamp for a good while before being served. Similarly the onion straws I ordered for my side were completely cold and consequently were limp and unappetizing. The problems with food not being hot was surprising, considering we got there before they got busy, so it cannot be blamed on them being slammed. It's a minor point, but whoever created the recipes is obviously fond of rosemary because it was front and center in three of the dishes we had, a bit excessive in my opinion. To summarize the whole experience, the great entrees and great service make it worth considering returning at some point. The disappointing appetizers and sides make it worth asking “is it worth the significantly higher than average prices?” We won't be rushing back, but at some point we will be giving them another chance.
One of the classier establishments here in our small community that is loaded with chain restaurants and dive bars. If you want a decent meal with great accommodations then you should give this place a try. However, it is a bit on the pricier side and the menu is that of a place playing it pretty safe in the flavor category.Update: When calling, don't be alarmed if the person answering is a bit pretentious or flippant in their demeanor when checking for availability. It's a reflection of how highly they regard themselves and their contributions to the culinary arts. Customer service isn't as high a priority as it once was, they may have lost my business with that one.
I have been going at least once a month on date nights with my husband here and the service and food quality is amazing. We took my Dad for his birthday and they went above & beyond on service. They even gave him a slice of cheesecake with "Happy Birthday" written in raspberry (or strawberry?) sauce. Thank you for the amazing experience, he loved it!
Atmosphere is relaxed. Customer service is 5-star service . Food is excellence and prices are fair. A great place to get away for an evening or to gather for a small celebration with friends & family. Classy but casual. Dress business casual upscale dining.
