Over 60 years ago, members of the Volikas family immigrated from Greece to Kokomo, Indiana. They opened a Coney Island restaurant and passed down recipes to family members who have run the business ever since. Located at 1700 East Hoffer Street, west of Imperial Drive, it is open from 9 to 7 Monday through Friday and 9 to 5 on Saturday and specializes in Coney Island hot dogs, coney sauce and baked hamburgers. Yes, baked hamburgers. What is a baked hamburger? It is served on a hot dog bun with ground beef, mustard, coney sauce and lots of diced onions. The house's special coney sauce consists of ground beef, chopped onion, tomato sauce and chili powder. It makes for a zippy topping for hot dogs and hamburgers. Of course, the signature item on the menu is the Coney Island hot dog. It consists of a beef frankfurter in natural casing in a soft, steamed bun topped with all-meat, beanless chili, yellow mustard and diced white onions. With seasoned curly fries or nachos or French fries with chili and cheese. Other popular items on the menu are gyros, breaded tenderloin sandwich, chicken sandwich, pasta salad and chili. Another unique item, if you're in the mood, is breaded and fried pickle spears. For a quick breakfast bite, the sausage and egg sandwich is highly recommended.

Never been here before. New to area. We have a Louies Texas red hotdogs place in NY. This sorta reminds me of it. When I first walked in many of the servers looked and continued working. I stood right in front of counter waiting to see if I would be acknowledged. After about a min a young lady did greet me. I was going to walk out. Beibg that it was not busy at all. When I served or did any customer service first person to see or meet customer is to greet them. That is one thing I wiuld change. People are coming to spend their money at this establishment so they should be promptly greeted. The food was not bad I had the baked and nacho. It was decent pricing. The place was very clean and the bathroom was clean as well. After we were given a server she was very respectful and hospitable. I will definitely return...hope I'm greeted sooner.

My boyfriend took me here for the first time for lunch and it was way beyond what I expected! I got two cheeseburgers and he got a gyro and it was amazing, filling your tummy for just the right price. With it being a family friendly place that's more filling, healthy, and cheaper than McDonald's in cheeseburgers; I highly recommend this establishment for all ages!!!

Louie's definitely has a big piece of Kokomo's heart and mine too! It's family owned and is a local favorite! Their coney sauce cannot be beat! It's very unique in flavor and very different from any other coney place! I remember the original downtown location and walking there after school with groups of kids just for their bakes. Their new location is near US 931 (old 31) and west of Crew Car Wash. It's set up kind of like an old fashioned dinner. It's a fun atmosphere! The bake is a local favorite and unique to Louie's. Locals call them "gut bombs". It's a hamburger mixture rolled up into a hotdog and cooked in their special coney sauce. They put it on a hotdog bun, add some mustard and top it with onion! I get 2 or 3 of them in a boat without the bun and eat it with a fork. If you've never tried one of these you are missing out! If you're ever in Kokomo, Louie's is a must stop!! Don't just take my word for this.... Go experience it for yourself! You'll thank me later?

I've been going to Loui's since they were downtown. The bakes don't taste the same since Loui isn't there

Every time we eat at Louie's; we are not disappointed. Best baked hamburgers hands down, love the fried dill pickles; my wife loves the onion rings!! Keep up the great work guys!!!!!

If you haven't had the feta fries...you have to get them next time. And the baklava is awesome too, as with all of the menu. Never disappointed with anything I've tried.

The bakes are so great. Been coming here since they were downtown when Louie ran the place.

Wasn't sure what to expect. Very friendly service. Fast service. Fries very hot and crispy. Coney very good. Make sure to get it with mustard and onions

Louie's is always good. Today tho the buns were so nice and warm and fresh. I would recommend this place to anyone. We have been going here for years. We follow them lol. My husband used to go there in the 60s for lunch.
