As we started our vacation, we visited The Library and we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious our food was! Food was served in a timely manner and our waitress was attentive and friendly. Our pork chop, walleye, and stuffed shrimp were scrumptious. We talked ourselves into dessert and it was a nice way to end dinner. The exterior of the building and atmosphere needed some attention as we had ants on the windowsill next to our window…hence the 4 star rating.
My husband and I were driving home to Illinois on a Monday evening which can be a tough night to find a non chain place to eat. I found The Library listed and it was such a wonderful break. The space is full of natural light, with large french doors opening to an outdoor space. The main dining room is decorated with traditional decor, and you can actually hold a conversation. I hate the new decor with concrete floors, high ceilings etc where it is so loud you cannot hear the person next to you. I had the walleye and my husband the salmon. Everything was delicious. I loved the clever naming of the drinks after classic novels too. We will be back!
Service was excellent, food was very good and prices were decent. Went for lunch with work group (7 people) hot seated right away. Atmosphere is gorgeous, would recommend just for the atmosphere and art. Definitely recommend pictures if you like taking pictures of places. This is like a restaurant and museum sorta.Definitely recommend a visit and I would definitely visit this place again. Regret not getting pictures, words do not due this place justice.
Best place in Indianapolis. Should be located downtown, but downtown restaurants suck. Maybe perfect where it is.
Friendly atmosphere, and the service was good. The food was served timely. I would prefer more options on the lunch special.
This is a great little place to start off your trip! We stayed at the Hyatt just across the street and had dinner here. Had an amazing steak and appetizers. Too much food to enjoy dessert, but the service was amazing and the drinks are delicious. Would definitely make reservations here again when we are heading out of town.
Could use a bit of sprucing up inside and out... HOWEVER, inside is always clean and tidy. Food and service are great. The me that a wide range of choices and varied types of dishes to choose from. Have always had much above average quality and consistent. Never an experience that was less than great!
summertime outdoor seating, reservations are possible, the chef does a great job of preparing a perfect dining experience. I've eaten there 5 or 6 times and all of the staff are superb in their knowledge and professionalism.
Absolutely Divine. Started with Italian Stuffed Mushrooms and finished with a Venus Delight and black coffee. The service is impeccable and the food top notch. Come see for yourself, and bring your appetite, and friends!!
I really like this place. The Chicken Marsala is wonderful. My wife enjoys the stuffed salmon. They also have the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had. Lightly roasted but still soft, not burned to a crisp like so many other places do. You can eat upscale and show up in street clothes and for some reason it feels totally normal here. Nice decor and a friendly staff.
