we had a fun dimsum experience. lots of options
The only great Dim Sum place in Indy area.
WOw wow WOW!!! Everybody needs to come here immediately! We got the Oyster Sauce Broccoli and it was cooked absolutely perfect. The pot stickers were instantly crave worthy. We got a few other Dim Sum dishes but these were some of the faves. I cannot wait to come back and eat my way through the whole menu! I have eaten Dim Sum all over America and this is some of the best I have ever had.
Excellent food, and helpful friendly service. We scheduled a very large takeout order a few hours ahead of time. They had our order ready exactly on time and everything was exactly as ordered.
The best dimsum around!! We live visiting Lucky Lou!
I used to go to Lucky Lou often for dim sum. At the time, it was easily the best dim sum restaurant and possibly best overall Chinese restaurant in Indy. Unfortunately, I now wonder if this restaurant has fallen under new management or ownership. It is now called "Taste @ Lucky Lou" and that isn't the only change. The menu remains, although now many items have been crossed off and pricing has increased significantly. I understand COVID has caused pricing to increase and did not mind that. Also sourcing issues have necessarily caused menu items to disappear at many restaurants. The main negative is the quality and taste of the food, now. We ordered a typical dim sum spread and every item tasted off. I couldn't tell if the food had been frozen too long or was just stale. Either way, I did not taste any items that were made fresh. I am not sure that any of it was made that day. From the basic siu mai to the taro puffs, I did not taste an item that tasted better than buffet dim sum. In some cases, it tasted worse. The prices have also increased significantly. Again, price increases are understandable, but now EVERY dim sum item is between $6-7. That is not just a significant increase, but also for vastly inferior quality.I often have a hankering for dim sum, but now I can no longer come to or invite friends to what was once the best Chinese restaurant in the city.
Food is very good and keep the classic Chinese food taste. One of the best in Indiana…
Food is always awesome, staff is super nice. We go every year for our Jewish Christmas tradition of Chinese food. You'll want to go early though, because they run out of certain items over the course of the day. My favorites are any of their shumai and the sticky rice. Remember that it's dim sum, so they serve whatever is ready off a cart!
The food was great. But the staff made the place amazing. I did not get the name of the gentleman that was waiting and helping us but he went above and beyond in helping us pick out we wanted and was great with my kids. Fixed a couple things just for them. Even made some chop sticks that the kids could use. I have never seen my kids eat so much food. My son wants to go back for his birthday. I know we will go back a few more times before that even. 1 would give rhe place 10 stars if I could.
Wow! What a gem! This is the first time I have had good Chinese food in Indy and the food was definitely on par with or better than Chinese food in Chicago or NY. Elsa, the lady who took my order, was so kind. We got take out, but the dining room looked beautiful. I ordered the jellyfish with scallion in sesame oil, garlic choy sum, stir fried lamb with cumin, stuffed eggplant, chicken feet, abalone and chicken with sticky rice (wrapped in lotus leaf), curry squid, and durian puffs. Every single dish was incredibly delicious!! I am so impressed with this place and will definitely go back. We ordered more "adventurous" items off the menu but they had so many options that there should be a dish that anyone can enjoy.
