I got the dark and light mousse cake. First, the cashier told me they can't print a receipt and I'd get a text receipt. I gave her my number, but never received my receipt. When I ate the cake, I noticed that the bottom layer (which was very good) was pretty much half gone, as if it stuck to the bottom of the platter. The server should scoop each slice off the platter so that the customer receives the entire piece of cake. The cake was okay. It wasn't spectacular. I wouldn't go back.
I'm originally from NYC and I'm glad I found this place that my friend showed me, I love a cozy cafe. I also love me some chocolate covered strawberries, and I just tried a few (white chocolate to be exact) and they were so yummy, they are a bit pricey but the strawberries were also very big. I also really love the atmosphere, it's cute. A little hang out room, and they make grilled food as well. I want to come back.
We used to really love coming here when we visited downtown Indy and remembered this place as always taking care of customers. Yesterday we were standing in line for a while and the person working the ice cream station pointed to the lady in front of us and declared she would be the last person getting ice cream. I thought she was joking as first. It is pretty sad to treat customers like this. I will not be returning

About 12 hand dipped ice cream flavors, a few cake type of desserts, chocolate candies, and coffee/hot chocolate. We arrived about a half hour before closing and all the chairs were put up inside already, leaving us nowhere to sit. That seemed odd to us. Ice cream was good, did the job. We had a couple of weird interactions with the staff too. Nothing earth shatteringly bad or good during our visit.
Always love the visit to South Bend Chocolate! Order the Lake Effect Latte, grab some chocolate and enjoy the downtown atmosphere! Btw staff is always amazing!
Hands down the best hot chocolate you’ll ever have in your entire life. Definitely gonna have to come back sometime soon! Peanut butter fudge wasn’t too bad either. ???

My family went downtown at 7:45 to get some hot chocolate and look at the lights tonight. We waited in the line which was moving pretty quickly, and once we were about 3 people away from the door, an employee comes and locks the door, saying they’re not serving anyone else. We had been in line for 15 minutes and no one came out to let us know they were no longer serving people, so we continued to wait in line. They also had a “We’re open!” sign out that they did not remove. Very frustrating.
Use to be better. Tonight was disappointing. Hot chocolate was not very chocolatey and we got the wrong flavors. Waited in line forever because of busy downtown events.
