Poor experience. Ordered $40 worth of food went to pick it up 30 minutes later and they told me they were “too busy” and had canceled my ordered. There were 3 customers total in the whole restaurant. They could have at least called and told me it was cancelled instead of me driving across town. They didn’t even offer to make it when I came in just said it was cancelled. I had really been looking forward to trying this but probably won’t go back after the experience I had.
One of Indy's best little secrets. We stopped by this place strictly on the Google Maps comments/ratings and I was NOT disappointed! FYI: THERE IS NO SIGNAGE FOR A SHANI'S. It is actually in the place called Chipatis. ???We showed up about an hour before closing for takeout and were warmly greeted by the order taker. The food was absolutely delicious and I would drive across town for it again. We had the Whole Chicken, tandoori style extra crispy and it came to us hot, fresh and well seasoned. The portions were generous and with the secret spicy sauce on the side, made metering the heat level easier. Speaking of the sauce, it's not that spicy if you are a spicy food fan. It definitely leans more sweet but, the more you use the hotter it gets we found. The naan garlic bread was an interesting twist on a simple favorite. It was good and paired with pieces of the chicken was a great combination. We also had chicken sandwiches. One spicy and one regular (extra crispy) both were well received and enjoyed the chicken on the naan as a unique twist to the traditional American style bun. They both thought the chew of the naan complimented the hot and crispy chicken.Overall impression: Feeding a family of 4 with each of us having different taste is always a challenge. Shani's really did a great job of delivering hot and fresh chicken at a reasonable price. Everyone was satisfied and are eager to go back.
This is incredible. This is my first time and I am a fan for life. Their hot sauce is so good.
Hands down the best chicken sandwich in the city. Get extra masala seasoning on your fries. If you love yourself, have a mango lassi, too. Ask for the mango sauce for that sandwich. So. Good.
Best fried chicken in town. I would recommend the regular chicken sandwich with their spicy mango chatni, which is absolutely to due for.
Bit of a wait when walk in ordering to go, but definitely worth it , delicious, call ahead would be best
Wow, haven’t dropped a 5 star in a long while, but this chicken from Shani’s were amazing! It was spicy, sweet, crunchy, and flavorful! This is 100% recommended if you love spicy food. Note: this restaurant is also Chapati. They also got some games to play in the restaurant!
The most incredible chicken I have had in years!! The seasoning is flavorful and distinct. The cook on the chicken is superb, so moist tender and crisp. Tandoori (me) Spicy also. And it is Halal. I don’t live near by but when I visit clients in the area, that is always dinner one night. They are a sister restaurant to Chapati in same location, something for everyone!
I would give this place 5 stars if the pricing was more appropriate. The tandoori chicken burger is GREAT - unique idea, great taste, good presentation. But $9 for a little burger that won't fill most people up is very overpriced, especially since most "Nashville Style Chicken Burger" places are HUGE (and naan as the buns is much less bulk than a regular burger). This was more of a slider than a burger.Honestly it's a good thing to try once for the experience, but if they consider pricing it to a more normal sandwich price like ~$5 (considering the tiny tiny size) it would be worth going again.
Had been craving fried chicken for a while so googled and found out about Shani’s Secret Chicken/Chapati…..so glad we tried it and I am surprised no one mentioned it before. Ordered both the chicken sandwiches…tandoori & spicy…leg & thigh, Masala Fries, Nihari with naan, Beef Bihari paratha wrap and both Desi & Kashmiri tea. Loved every item that we ordered. Definitely coming back again to try other items on the menu!!!! PS: they have Carrom Board and Ping-Pong ? ?
