The lady who brings you to your table and hands you the menu is just lovely. The service is great also. The people at the sushi bar are doing a great job making those rolls. It was my first time today dining in and the sushi was amazing! Very fresh and has excellent flavors. I really recommend this place!
I've been coming to Sakura for years, and I have no clue why I never put in a good word.Sakura is about as high quality and fair priced as you're going to get in the Indy region. I wouldn't bother trying any of the boutique places downtown or on Mass Ave - you'll be disappointed compared to here.Ex Hot tea is $1.50. They will bring you refills. So many other places want to charge $3 for a cup. It is one of those things overcharging for makes little senseThey have all of the traditional Japanese menu items you want...from a simple box to a donburi.The uni they get here is really really fresh - unreal for the Midwest. Make sure to let it sit in your mouth for a few seconds and THEN take a sip of water!The miso is always on point. Seaweed salad is fresh. And all of the basic rolls taste great.Avoid the more complicated rolls. Stick to the hamachi and saba.
I have been coming here for about 30 years and they still have the best sushi. I travel all over the country for work and this place has the best soft shell crab rolls. I would consider the staff here part of my family.
Hands down best sushi I've ever had. The chef was amazing. The service was polite and prompt. I really enjoyed my experience.
This is a hidden gem of a restaurant in the northern Indy area in my opinion. The outside isn’t flashy like other restaurants (especially ones north of it at Keystone), but the interior is very atmospheric, the staff I have had here in the past were friendly, and the sushi has always been lovely here. Particularly recommend coming for the lunch specials.
By far our favorite sushi restaurant! The soft shell crab, dipped in the ginger dressing, is out of this world! The service can be a bit slow, but the staff is always kind and friendly! We have never had a bad experience here. Highly recommend!
Good food, excellent service!I always judge a sushi place by their tuna rolls because it generally reflects on the quality of the fish and gives some insight on the portion sizes of the fish.10/10 tuna rolls, I'll be back!
Good sushi, service is ok. Place can get busy. Plan ahead and make reservations if you can.
I’m heartbroken to post this. This has been our favorite sushi place for years.We’ve coming for at least 7 years and it’s been great to see them grow but because of this the service has slipped.We got used to waiting an hour or more on busy evenings but now it’s all the time. We went on a Wednesday evening around 615. Our food didn’t arrive until 755. The server did apologize but it’s a bit much.I will be switching to carry out from now on.
The sushi is average but the seafood udon soup is very tasty and the staff are friendly
