We go to Metazoa a lot and when the OLD GOLD BBQ is open we buy some to eat and some to take home. The ribs are terrific, the brisket is amazing and the Turkey is better than any I've ever had at Thanksgiving. These folks do a GREAT JOB of working from a trailer!
This was my first time and the food was delicious! Everything was fully cooked ? Brisket was moist, tender and full of flavor! My favorite side was the corn. Definitely will be going back to this place in the near future!
Absolutely must-have BBQ shared with a great brewery! Great selections of different entrees, but I must say the nachos were amazing! Great crew as well!
Man this one is a doozy! Absolutely BONKERS good BBQ for being this far north. ;) Just quit messing around and get the Trinity. You're not going to want to miss the brisket. Great staff too. Next to a brewery to, can't beat it.
Friendly owners. Food is ridiculously good. The Brisket Burger almost had me fall out my seat. The Mac n Cheese was on another level of good. They had Coke in real glass bottles to top. I'm counting my days when I will be able to come back.
I am not a big BBQ person - but my SO is. We went to Metazoa this past weekend and ate at their food truck, old gold BBQ. I couldn’t find something on the menu that sparked my interest, but I had seen on Google maps that they have had a potato Turkey bowl before (around thanksgiving). So I asked about that dish, and though it wasn’t currently on their menu, they made it happen!!! They created a dish very similar with the ingredients they had on hand. It was delicious! Super nice persons and really good food.
So first of all thank you guys for the hard work you put in daily to make such art. That's right ART because it really is meat art due to the fact these people put so much work into a tiny little texas bbq joint. Ok now about the flavor, came in late last night about 10 and grabbed brisket and sausage and I thought I would get dry brisket being how late it was and I was so wrong it was moist and super tender the way its supposed to be. I've over the years in indianapolis only found one really good brisket and now I've stumbled across the absolute best in indy........P.S the owner was a very down to earth dude we had a good chat about some bbq.
Turkey was very dry/tough and not flavored well. My partner order the pulled pork sandwich, said it was amazing and it was one of the best. Mac and cheese was tasty, the jalapeños gave it a kick. The sausage was good but didn't need the cheese in it. The beans were flavored well.
I came for the comedy, beer, and puppies at Metazoa and was completed charmed by Old Gold BBQ! The whole experience was a well oiled machine. The gentleman that helped me was down a staff member and handled the whole line with efficiency and kindness. The food was so delicious! I had the mashed potatoe bowl and it was a great play of flavors and textures. I definitely would like to add corn the next time (there will be a next time). Thanks for the great food and service OGBBQ!!
This place is phenomenal. Everything we tried, and we tried almost everything, was delicious! My husband and I have been to numerous bbq joints and this one is everything we’d hoped for. After having their brisket, pulled pork, jalapeño cheddar sausages, Mac and cheese, chili and their beans, we’ll never go anywhere else for our bbq! While we enjoy a sweeter coleslaw, it was still full of flavor and fresh. We also had their street corn, it wasn’t what we expected but still had great flavor. We didn’t try their potato salad but after another customer ordered a pint along with pounds of their meat, I think that will be the next thing we try. We will be die hard customers of this establishment from here on out. This food truck far exceeded our expectations. Thank you for delivering authentic Texas BBQ! Can’t wait to come back!
